[v2] Chapter Fourty-Four – In which Ark’s group first meets Pomelo, then later on Nova and Mags have a chat.
I really hadn’t expected to find Magpie staying at this beastkin settlement. I don’t think any of her sisters did, either. What happened back then was a culmination of bad luck and bad timing, but I can’t reasonably shift the blame onto Crow or onto Diana Artemis, because I’m the one responsible for how everything played out in the end. Crow went along with the hunting party because I was interested in acquiring domesticated Black-claws. Diana fought with Magpie because I made it an issue by saying that she wasn’t ready. It’s not that Magpie wasn’t ready—I have half a mind to think that my daughters all but come out ready at this point. No. I wasn’t ready to lay my hands on Magpie.
In all that time, I was still processing my guilt about laying my hands on so many of my daughters as it was. I was still fighting and losing the battle against my own human morals. It wasn’t until after I had this strange daydream in Lumi’s chapel that I began to accept the inevitable, if only a little bit. With the births of Gremory and Beet, I was able to make a moral compromise with myself. All who came after Beet, will be the responsibility of Beet. From Primrose to Gremory, they have the right to choose. With exception to Glace, all of my elder daughters… I will accept as mine. It’s almost an unreasonable amount to deal with as it is, and adding more is just asking for more problems and heartache.
If it’s a matter of shedding blood for them, biteys as Primrose would call it, then I will go that far. But that’s it. Line in the sand, ten toes down, no further.
From the moment I saw her again, I was prepared to rectify my mistake from months ago. Yet, time moves inexorably forward, and no one waits forever. This perhaps goes doubly-so for goblins who move through their lives at a different speed from other races, as I was once more made to find out.
“So, you all are Mags’ kin? Nice to finally meet you! I’m her mate, Pomelo.”
The Lagosian, a buxom rabbit beastkin with white fur who flooded the room with a flowery scent stacked upon a heavy layer of pheromones, introduced herself once she had smoothed things over between Magpie and Diana outside, before inviting us all inside of her home.
“I reckon you won’t find anything other than the pub open this late, so if you’re wanting to trade as you say, you’ll have to wait until the morning before you can do so.”
“We appreciate that.” I replied, happy to find that she spoke the human common tongue far better than I expected.
Magpie stood next to Pomelo, receiving a nudge from the Lagosian asking her to introduce us. While possibly reluctant at first, Magpie caved and did as she asked fairly quickly.
“These are my sisters—Diana Artemis, Nova, Ebony, Wise-eyes, Ruby, and…”
“Kiwi!” Kiwi said cheerfully.
Magpie had left Goblinhome shortly after Selene Hecate came into the world, so she didn’t know about the existence or names of any of her other siblings which had been born in her absence. I was fully prepared to tell her everything she might want to know about what’s happened at home since she left, but more than anything, I was just happy to see and know that she was doing okay.
I’m a father first, or I at least try to be.
Pomelo walked over to Diana Artemis and looked her up and down at first.
“So, you’re the eldest sister. Mags says you’re quite the fighter.”
“Not fighter. Diana Artemis Guardian and hunter.”
“Is there a difference?”
“Guardian job to protect tribe, help sisters.”
“I see. Mind if I… touch you?”
“Not mind.”
Pomelo hesitated for a moment before placing her soft hand on Diana’s arm and sliding it up and pressing down in a few places.
“Those are some firm muscles alright. Well, pleased to meet you, Diana Artemis.”
Diana nodded and Pomelo moved over to Nova next.
“That would make you the… Knight Goblin?”
“Not anymore.”
“Oh, changed careers recently?”
“Best to think of me as a bit of a Rogue.”
Pomelo ran a paw over Nova’s very muscular abdomen.
“Rogues are fine, just make sure you keep your hands clean while you’re here. I don’t appreciate people with sticky fingers other than myself.”
Moving on, she then stood in front of me while keeping her hands to herself.
“Safe to assume that you’re the big daddy?”
“Guilty as charged.” I replied.
“Not bad, not bad… could stand to grow some hair in a few important places, but otherwise, not bad at all.”
“Thanks…?”
“Injury?”
Her eyes fell to my partially goblinized arm.
“Karma.” I corrected.
“The good kind, or the bad kind?”
“Probably a bit of both.”
“That the only part of you that’s green?” she asked, her eyes trailing towards my loincloth.
“My eyes—are up here.”
“I’m sure they are, sugar.”
She stuck a finger out and traced a line down from just below my belly button all the way up to my pectorals before moving on down the line of gathered goblins.
“Let’s see, black skin, so you must be Ebony!”
“Yes, me Ebony!”
Pomelo looked around a bit before matching gazes with her again.
“I hear you have a pet spider made out of bones?”
“Bitey. No bring him with.”
“Aw, a pity. I was hoping to meet the little feller.”
“You like bones?”
“Sure do, but mostly when there’s some meat attached to them.”
Ebony grinned. “Fire-meat?”
“Not too cooked if that’s what you mean. I like my meat a little rare.”
Moving on, she stood before Ruby.
“Ruby, right? You goblins sure come in all sorts of different flavors, don’t you?”
“Ruby not know. Never eat goblin before… except Husband.”
Pomelo shot me a knowing look. I could only sheepishly grin at the silent but awkward admission of my guilt.
“Well, if what Mags told me about you is true, please don’t go burning my place down.”
“Not worry, Ruby much better at controlling fire after Blood Fury.”
“Glad to hear it.”
Next in line was Yuna, at which point the look on Pomelo’s face changed drastically. She spoke something, but not in the common human tongue. Though I had no idea what she said, Yuna’s reply also in that language didn’t seem to give her any sense of relief.
Moving on to the last of us, Pomelo stared down at Kiwi.
“Kiwi, was it?”
“Yes, I’m Kiwi.”
Pomelo squatted down, reaching out to pinch her cheek.
“Ain’t you just an adorable little critter.”
“Kiwi not critter. Kiwi is goblin.”
“You sure are. I just love the outfit!” Pomelo tugged lightly on Kiwi’s Black-claw cloak.
“Pepper and Husband made this for Kiwi. Made from Black-claw Kiwi hunted.”
“And what is… a Black-claw?”
Magpie answered from behind Pomelo.
“Outside of Goblinhome they are called Shadow Wolves.”
“My…! Weren’t you afraid of hunting such a big and scary wolf all by yourself?”
“Kiwi not by herself. Hunted it while fishing with Husband.”
An approving grunt came from over by Diana Artemis. Pomelo stood up and lightly stroked the head of the long-dead wolf atop Kiwi’s head before returning to Magpie’s side.
“I suppose I should introduce myself again. My name is Pomelo, and this here is my—our, business and residence. Mags is my full-fledged friend, partner, and… mate. While it’s nice to meet kinfolk and all, I sure do hope that you’ll behave appropriately so that Mags won’t have any reason to throw you out. She’s the muscle around these parts, after all.”
“We’ll try and be on our best behavior then.” I replied courteously.
“Good. Then, why don’t you all go ahead and unburden yourselves in the rooms upstairs and I’ll come fetch you when supper’s ready. I know some of you prefer your meat uncooked, but I promise what I make ain’t gonna upset no one’s taste.”
I got the sense from her words that she likely wanted to have a moment in private with Magpie, so I had the girls follow me upstairs so we could also take a moment to talk, as well as set down our bags and rest. We did cover a lot of ground in a lot less time than it should have taken thanks to my hasting spells. I would have had Yuna help, but I wanted her mana to remain full just in case she needed to assist her sisters.
When we climbed the stairs and entered the first bedroom, Diana spoke abruptly.
“Husband, this reminds me of my old cave-hole in Goblinhome.”
She was referring to Beast-talker’s old cave-hole that I had renovated for Stella when she became a goblin, but wound up being used by Diana, Orchid, and Lilac instead.
“Well, this is how they make cave-holes—Houses, outside of goblinhome.”
“Much smaller than the one in Goblinhome.”
“It’s about the same size. Diana, you’re the one who’s gotten bigger.”
“Why does this cave-hole smell like weak-seed?”
“That…”
I didn’t know how to put it in words for her to understand. Having gained the olfactory senses of a goblin, I’d been aware of the strange but familiar smell from the moment I entered this building.
“That’s because this is a whorehouse.”
Nova didn’t mince words at all.
“What’s a whorehouse?”
“It’s a place where non-goblins come to give seed to… whoever works here.”
“Nova, explain more.” This had made Diana intensely curious.
“Not much to explain. Goblinhome is almost the exact opposite of the outside world when it comes to this sort of thing. Like how you all want the old man here to put his seed-stick inside of you and fill you up with big-seed so you can have strong-ones? This place sort of goes the other way. Men come here and give money—standing to make it easier for you to understand—in order to be able to enjoy putting their seed-stick inside of women, doesn’t even matter what kind; human, elf, dwarf, beastkin, hell, even a kobold if they want to do that sort of thing.”
“Women get standing by coming here and waiting for Husbands to give big-seed?”
“Not exactly. The kind of men who come here aren’t exactly… Husbands. In fact, the last thing they want to do is make strong-ones with any women who would work here. Give them seed, for sure, but that’s it. In and out, no real care like you’d get from… him.”
Diana looked perplexed.
“Do not-goblin women not want to have strong-ones?”
“They do, but… again, it’s different from Goblinhome. Here, usually, it’s one woman and one Husband. Any Husband who would go out and put his seed-stick into another women would be hated.”
“Why hate? Isn’t it good that a Husband makes many strong-ones with different women? Don’t they want to have a strong tribe?”
“Diana… let me ask you this: I know it’s against the goblin way, but if you could have the old man all to yourself, all of his love and care and strong-ones, with all your strong-ones becoming part of your Moon Clan so that there was no equal, and that you could be assured that your sisters and the other adult goblins would also eventually get… Husbands of their own… would you prefer that?”
“Only Moon Clan would be able to make strong-ones with Husband?”
“Well, specifically you, but sure, let’s narrow it down and say only your Moon Clan.”
“Moon Clan would become many-many stronger than other Clans.”
“Sure it would, but think of it less about the strong-ones you’d make, and more about how the Old Man would make sure the people he would truly care about would be you, and maybe Berry if you’re okay with it.”
“Selene Hecate?”
“Again, you’re thinking too hard about extra things. Just you and Him. That’s it. All of his love and care belonging to you and you alone.”
“This… is a dangerous thought, Nova.”
“It is, but that’s how it is outside of Goblinhome for just about everyone. The situation the old man is in… is actually a dream for many men of the outside world. Tell her, you shitty bastard, how lucky you really are having a tribe of women lusting after you day after day!”
I took a deep breath and sighed.
“I can’t deny it. What Nova said is the truth. To men of the outside world, were you not goblins and instead humans, elves, dwarves, or beastkin, I’d be considered someone of great importance and ability by having the entire tribe of Bloodmaw wishing me to be their Husband.”
“But Husband is of great importance and ability to the Bloodmaw.” Diana spoke, once more with her fervent reverence for me.
“Ruby wouldn’t like that.” Ruby said from beside me. “It wouldn’t be fair to the rest of the Bloodmaw that only Moon Clan would be able to have Husband’s care and big-seed!”
“Ebony agrees! Ebony wants to make strong-ones with Husband and be held after and have his fingers softly scratch all over Ebony’s body! Moon Clan has to share!”
This was a difficult topic to navigate, especially when all of my daughters besides Nova really didn’t grasp what individual relationships were. What the institution of marriage was truly supposed to be to the people who lived in the wider world, and of that, what the word Husband truly was supposed to reflect where it concerned one man and one woman.
Somehow, with the misunderstanding that I was going to belong only to Diana Artemis and her Moon Clan, there was only one thing I could do to assure Ruby and Ebony who had become increasingly riled up as the misunderstanding persisted that everything was okay, and nothing would disturb the status quo as it was in Goblinhome.
I had to dick them both down. There was simply no other way.
It didn’t help that the room stank from the windows to the walls of dried semen, if anything, that only exacerbated the problem. I really wanted to spare Kiwi the sight of this, but I promised that we wouldn’t be unruly in Pomelo’s home, and that was exactly what was about to happen. I lobbed Ebony onto the bed first and then pushed Ruby on top of her, telling her to control her body temperature. This wasn’t Goblinhome, and things in this room would catch fire easily if she didn’t.
After that, and for my own protection, I had to transform most of my torso, cock, and arms into that of a goblin so that I could handle… Ruby. Ebony has been on the receiving end of my goblinized seed-stick as a goblin before, so I wasn’t worried about injuring her in that way. Really, I was only worried about scaring Kiwi.
I wasted no time thrusting violently inside of Ruby, coating my cock in her viscous goblin goo for a number of deep pistons before sliding out and inserting it into Ebony. Her little gasping growl of surprise and horniness only egged me on as well. While I slammed into Ebony’s black lotus, I had reached around to pull Ruby’s body upwards and groped her chest fiercely, twisting her red nipples and softly biting all up her shoulder straight to her neck.
“You’re really doing this right now, shitty old man?”
I couldn’t even spare a glance behind me to see Nova’s disgust at me. Nova exited the room almost immediately after talking, but Diana, Yuna, and Kiwi stayed right where they were, each of them rubbing themselves as they watched me violate their sisters with their own personal desires freely on display. Ebony licked her fingers and rubbed her own nipples, enjoying what she could with my attention split between her and Ruby.
I had to be careful stimulating Ruby too much. She had a telling sign when she was about to cum. Her skin’s flame-like pattern would almost spring to life, like a living flame, and though she had done well in learning how to control her newfound ability thanks to her Blood Fury, she was still prone to letting her hair burst into flames. Knowing she was close from how she squirmed in my arms while I held her upright, I gripped her body as tightly as I could while I dumped my first steaming load deep inside of her.
“Gwaaa!”
Poof!
I leaned back quickly so that my face wouldn’t catch that intense burst of heat. I slowed down my strokes to help ease her through it, and then after coaxing her to put out her burning hair, I gently lowered her onto the bed. Ebony was now the recipient of my full attention. I rolled her over so I could go at her doggy-style. I pulled her waist so that my fully goblinized womb-breaker could terrorize her guts as I leaned over her body and tugged down harshly at her exceedingly petite nipples.
I wasn’t being excessive, nor was I bullying them. Both of them have been exceedingly upfront about enjoying me being rough with them in that kind of way. Considering who each of their mothers are, it’s not like the apples fell far at all from their respective trees.
Letting my human hand slip down and between her legs, I attacked her clitoris from both inside and out, causing her to moan loudly. I slung an arm around her ribs, lifted her up with my goblinized arm, and began to slowly nibble on her left ear.
“Gwoooh~ Husband~ Ebony… feels…”
A new wet stain had entered into the already questionable mattress we were fucking on as Ebony lost control and came violently. I then lowered her back onto her hands and knees and even pushed her head with force down into the mattress as I dragged my bulging green gobstopper all over her gob-spot. Then, when she was panting and nearing her second orgasm, I dumped a juicy load right into her, finally calming this unruly daughter down as well.
When I pulled out of her, I found that Yuna had already climbed onto the bed and was staring eagerly at my slimy semen-coated evil cucumber. She didn’t even have the decency to stop rubbing her little slit while drool slid down the corners of her mouth. I turned my head to see Diana, hard staring at what was happening on the bed, her expression eerily calm. I had expected to be attacked by her by this point, but she remained unmoving.
Only… watching.
Turning back to Yuna, she awkwardly crept closer across the bed, her mouth opening, preparing to devour it. I knew what she wanted. It was what they all wanted, day and night.
Yuna has been patient enough. Rather than a dingy cave-hole, wouldn’t a fairly nice room with a soft but moderately stained mattress be a kind way to lead her to goblin adulthood?
Yes, feeling my own depraved lust for her, at this moment I didn’t care about my morality anymore. So long as I had the restraint not to take hold of Kiwi just yet. Yuna… was more than ready, more than enough. And if she wasn’t… then Diana would have to do afterwards.
I reached out and grabbed hold of Yuna’s hair, pulling her towards me.
“Husband... Yuna wants…”
“Yes.”
My monstrous monster, green and itchy, coated in semen and vaginal fluids stood fiercely in front of her eyes. Yuna’s mouth opened wide, her sharp teeth not frightening me in the slightest amidst my own lust, extended her elongated tongue, and as it snaked out to wrap around me…
The door to the room opened suddenly.
“Alrighty folks, supper’s ready and it’s—”
I turned to see Pomelo standing there, taking in the scene of carnage all at once.
“…green.”
~~** Interlude | Nova **~~
“Curious minds want to know.”
After an awkwardly quiet supper, no thanks to my sisters constantly lusting after that shitty old man, Magpie wanted to talk with me alone for a moment, so we stepped outside of the whorehouse and took a walk together.
“Know what?”
“Everything, since you left.”
We walked into something of an open clearing where there was a single wide tree stump that we could both sit down upon. Magpie reached into her clothes and pulled out a metal plate that looked familiar.
“I’m the same rank My Lord is when he…”
“Stopped being an adventurer?”
“When the Protectorate brought him to the Bloodmaw. Crow told me the truth about how Husband became part of the tribe. I’ve talked with other humans, not just Cobi. All of them say…”
“That it’s the worst thing that could happen?”
“Yes. The humans… their hatred for goblins is…”
“Warranted.” I said, causing Magpie to look at me with cold eyes.
“Hear me out for a moment. The Bloodmaw are vastly different from other tribes of goblins. Or at least we are now. Maybe it’s an effect the Old Man has on us, or the fact that we may have really inherited some of his… humanity. Magpie, have you ever met another goblin that wasn’t from our tribe while you’ve been out here?”
“Not… alive.”
“Oh? Tell me about it.”
“There was a group of four who were on a hunt on the outskirts of Thorn, from what I could tell from their tracks. They came across a house with humans living inside of it that cared for fat beasts that ate grass called cows. This group of goblins killed one every so often, dragging it away to eat elsewhere. But they didn’t have someone like Lily to cover their tracks, and dragging one of these heavy cows disturbs the ground easily enough to be followed. I was curious when I saw a job request on the board for someone to… investigate the situation. I offered to take the job, and I was added to a group of three other humans. Only one had part of a silver-skin on them, which they call armor. Old One has talked about the silver-skins many times, so I was as cautious as I could be…”
“Of course.”
“They weren’t in a cave, just in a small area with a barely dug fire-pit and their cave-holes were… strange. A big stick with a rag tied to it with the ends held down by heavy stones. Even the smallest cave-hole in goblinhome could fit all of them inside easily. The cow was there, barely half-eaten by the four who were asleep with full bellies. I… when I informed the others of their location…”
“They were slaughtered in their sleep?”
Magpie silently nodded.
“Cut their heads off at the neck. Then to show proof they dealt with the problem, they cut an ear off from each head to bring back as proof to the Guild. That was it. They left the cows and the bodies of the goblins there to rot no differently than we would the beasties we would hunt. They… were all congratulating each other for a job well done. They didn’t even fight with honor! They just…”
“Humans do that. They see goblins much in the same way the goblins saw the cow… worse, actually. They see goblins as… bugs. Pests to be killed on sight before they can bring more of themselves into the world. Would you ask a fly in the shit-pit to not bother you, or would you smack it as soon as it lands and let it die because it wasn’t something you felt could be anything other than an annoying fly? Because it couldn’t be talked to or reasoned with? Because from everything you knew about it, even if it could talk and be reasoned with, it would still be a pest anyway, because that was in its very nature?”
“When you were a human, was this how you saw us?”
“You… eavesdropped on Lumi and me?”
“My job is to gather information. You and Lumi were once humans, Mint… also was something else before she was a Bloodmaw. I have my suspicions on Glace as well, but she… never speaks.”
“Do you hate me for once being human?”
“Why would I? You are Bloodmaw now, as well as my sister. Isn’t that all that matters? Also, don’t avoid my question.”
I sighed.
“Yes. Before I knew better, that was how I also viewed goblins as. Dangerous, barely intelligent, filthy, disgusting, depraved, thieving, murderous creatures well beyond redemption. The only suitable thing a goblin could do was die quickly.”
“And now?”
“My biggest issue is… dealing with the fact that I’m a female more than being a goblin.”
“Still no desire to make a strong-one with My Lord?”
“Oh, the desire is there… to have a strong-one at least. I feel it acutely, and it bothers me to no end. But with the shitty old man? I can’t stand the idea of it. How about you?”
“I… feel the desire, but thanks to Pomelo, it… isn’t so bad anymore.”
“Magpie, that place you are living in…”
“The brothel?”
“You know what it is?”
“I do. Pomelo explained it to me. It is a place where males come to pay coins to spend time with females, to put their seed-sticks inside and…”
“Are you… doing that sort of thing?”
“No. Mags only protects Pomelo if things get dangerous for her while she does.”
“Were you waiting for another chance to be with the old man?”
“At first… but now that I’ve seen him again, I don’t know. What Mags has with Pomelo is… close to what Ivory and Truffle have… maybe?”
“Companionship?”
Magpie shrugged. She explained that she wasn’t entirely sure if it was only that or if there was more to it. According to Magpie, only Pomelo knew she was a goblin, and having gotten to know most of the residents of this settlement, was still uneasy about revealing the truth to anyone else. Pomelo also appears to be the more feminine one among the both of them, having learned that she was the one to initiate intimacy with Magpie first.
Damn, I’m jealous!
I remember this Beastkin named Nyara who worked at one of my favorite whorehouses in Sunscorch. She was a feline variety who had one hell of a body, a small nick in her left ear, and howled erotically when I pulled on her tail while deep inside of her!
“Sounds like you have it good here.”
Magpie silently leaned against me.
“Don’t worry. We’ll behave ourselves and leave quickly so as to not disturb what you have. You should come and visit at least when Crow’s strong-one comes.”
“How is Crow?”
“All things considered, I’d say she’s doing well enough for still being somewhat crippled.”
“What do you mean?”
“Ah, the old man and the Dwarf. They made some changes to Goblinhome and put some metal… thing around her broken leg. She can move around on her own for the most part, but slowly. I don’t know all the details, but from what Prima told me… she said that Crow didn’t need to worry about her place in the Tribe so long as the Old Man continued to fill her belly with strong-ones. He also felt the same way. If putting strong-ones inside of her, even though she believed herself to be a weak-one now, was what would keep her going…”
“I see.”
“Yeah. Also, she works for our younger sister, Kiwi.”
“Works?”
“Yeah. Upstairs in the Goblin’s Guild, Kiwi owns a shop called the Goblin Lazy-buy. Crow sits behind a counter trading things goblins want for standing. That’s actually a big part of the reason we came here. Kiwi has the talent for being a Merchant, and the Old Man is extremely supportive of that. Well, you know how he is…”
“Is she… also an adult goblin?”
“Pretty sure the old man is waiting on that.”
“Until she’s older? I figured from what Diana said earlier…”
“Diana has nothing to do with that. Rather, it’s… because of Beet.”
“Beet?”
“Melon’s strong-one. Beet isn’t our sister… but, well… I don’t know the goblin word for it.”
“Is there a human common tongue word for it?”
“There is. Beet is our brother.”
“Brother…? Beet is a male goblin?”
“Yeah. Not only that, but Glace bit his ear right after he was born and made him Clan. It will still be a while before he can help the old man out, but Beet’s also a bit… special.”
“In what way?”
“That’s the thing. At times he can be a complete idiot. At other times, like when sparring or learning magic… he has a sharp mind and picks things up quickly. But that’s… not quite accurate to what I mean. While Beet doesn’t have a single thing that he’s the best at… in exchange for that, he’s very good at everything.”
“When you say Beet will help My Lord, in what way do you mean?”
“Being the one to give big-seed to our younger sisters.”
“My Lord is refusing again?”
“That’s the thing. If you ask him this time, he won’t refuse. Diana won’t interfere again, either. I talked with him about it, and he said that he will not refuse anyone from Diana to Wise-eyes anymore, with exception made only to Glace. Those who came after Wise-eyes but before Beet are free to choose on their own when they are old enough. And finally, those who came into the world after Beet fully become Beet’s responsibility.”
“What if Beet doesn’t have big-seed to give them?”
“Who knows? That’s a problem for the tribe to deal with later if it turns out to be the case.”
Sitting quietly on the tree stump, both of us began to detect a change in the air. It had taken on a smokey kind of scent. Magpie leapt off and looked in a particular direction for a moment.
“Something wrong?” I asked.
“Smells like a fire coming from the sawmill.”
No sooner than she said that, did one of the beastkin we met earlier come running towards us.
“Mags! Big danger! Sawmill under attack! Come, come!”
“Under attack by what?”
The feline beastkin who had collected our weapons stared directly at me, not pulling her gaze from me before stating ominously…
“Goblins.”
