Chapter 146: An Overwhelmed Guest... An Intruder?
Acantha looked at the lady who was now sitting in their dining room, who still looked very amazed at what she was seeing.
"My Lady, the duke said that he can’t come home tonight as he has some things to do in the east," Mildred said to her.
Acantha nodded at her as she began eating her own food, while their guest looked like she was hesitating to eat something.
"What’s wrong, Lady Yarin?" Acantha said as she looked at the lady who looked like she was suspecting her food.
"Do you think we will poison you?" she continued as she looked at Lady Yarin, who snorted at her.
"And what if your people did? How would you take responsibility if I got poisoned here?" the lady said to her, which made Acantha chuckle at what she said.
"My, My, what bold accusations you were throwing against our duchy, Lady Yarin," Acantha said as she started chewing her own food.
"Why did you even bring me here? You probably wanted to brag about having such a luxurious house like this?" The lady said as she finally started eating her own food, but she looked like she was forcing herself.
Acantha waited for her reaction when she finally put the food in her mouth; she saw Lady Yarin’s eyes widen when she finally tasted the food.
"It’s delicious, right? Don’t worry, the cooks here always make sure that they cook the best food," Acantha said as she bragged like what Lady Yarin always does.
The Lady didn’t answer her, but she gave her a glare, which Acantha just shrugged off.
