Chapter 23: The Attack
Acantha was feeling tired as she was just sitting all day in the carriage, the journey was very long and they still haven’t arrived yet to the North as the Duchy of Solaris was very far from where they are going.
The carriage stopped which made her frown, Mildred went out to see what was going on.
" My lady the duke asked us to stop as there is a small house here which you can use to clean yourself," Mildred who just came back said as she was waiting for her at the door and there she saw a small house.
Acantha goes to the house as the nature has been calling her but she was just too shy to ask them to stop the carriage for her. When she step inside she saw that the house might be small but it looks very decent inside.
"Whose house is this Mildred?" I asked as I looked around and saw no one was there except for the knights who were waiting for us outside the house.
"This house is one of the villagers house that they let someone to rent it when they were on their way to travel far," Mildred said as she give me some clothes, we went inside a room and saw that it was nice.
Mildred helped me to take a bath, and get dressed, when I finished , we went back again to the carriage and the knights escorted us back, " Mildred have you seen father?" I asked as I didn’t saw him when we took a break from travelling.
"The duke was in front, My lady," He was guiding as on our way there and making sure that our journey will be safe as it will take two days before we could even reach the North," Mildred said and I just looked down.
I nodded when I was about to lay down on inside the carriage when suddenly the carriage move like something hit it, Mildred looks like she was surprised too.
"Monster!"
"Monster!"
