Chapter 19: The Uninvited Visitors
Acantha stays in her room after they get back from the garden. She waited for the bird to come back but she stays there for the whole afternoon and the bird didn’t came, she was worried that something might happened to the bird that’s why it didn’t came back.
She was still feeling sad by Mildred’s revelation about how the duchess talk to her or the real Acantha when she was still in her womb. and how she loves her to the point that she died giving birth to her.
Her parents in her past life didn’t showed her any love, all she knew was they were always away for some business and she was raised and left by her nannies alone.
She later finds that her parents weren’t busy doing some business but they were busy spending some money from her grandfather who was the one who took her when he saw how they neglected her. That’s why her grandfather was the only family she cares for and with thought she felt a sudden pang on her chest knowing she will never see her grandfather again.
She sighed when she hears a knock, the door opened and a maid came to call her as Mildred calls her to eat dinner and she informed her that the duke won’t be coming home as he will go to the magic tower where the powerful magicians stays.
Acantha was done eating when she tries to walk when she heard some noises from the outside.
"Where’s the duke?" Acantha heard someone was looking for her father, she walks near to where she heard the commotions from, and there she saw some men who was harassing Mildred and one of the knight was trying to stop them.
"His grace still hasn’t came back," Mildred said in a dead tone as but Acantha could see that she was a little bit shaking.
"Why is that the duke was always not here whenever we have a meeting?!" The man said as he raises his voice as he look at Mildred who was just trying to talk to him.
