Chapter 56: If it’s true, it’s not impossible
"However, the most surprising one is still you, Loraviel."
Earlier, when Loraviel wielded a sword, she was just like the trainees Olivia had seen—trying hard but still far from proficient. Reaching this level of skill should have taken at least a year, if not longer.
It required daily practice, endless swings of the sword, relentless training. But Loraviel had merely switched weapons, and it was as if she had become an entirely different person.
"Perhaps it’s fate’s choice. After all, the territory most skilled with daggers in the Lisat Kingdom is the Venus territory."
"Hm? What?" Loraviel had never heard of such a thing before.
"...” Olivia seemed to realize she had let something slip and quickly dismissed it. "Nothing. Just pretend you didn't hear that."
"Everyone has a weapon that suits them. You finding yours so quickly is already impressive," Olivia said.
"Found it?" Now that she thought about it, the reason she was using a dagger was because Her Highness Liana had given it to her...
Loraviel recalled Liana’s recent actions. She was becoming more and more enigmatic. Could it be that this dagger was something Liana had given her because she had already sensed something?
"Lady Olivia, this dagger was given to me by Her Highness Liana. Could it be..."
"Impossible! Absolutely impossible!" If Liana truly had such a skill—choosing the perfect weapon for someone even without seeing them fight, without using magic—then there was no way she would have such a tarnished reputation.
If she possessed such an ability, the Lisat Kingdom would have taken her under their wing immediately. Someone with such insight could save people years of effort.
