Chapter 94: Wooden world(30)
There was an energy that quickly spread through his body, realigning the broken bones, creating scarring and new tissue to cover the bleeding areas and gaping wounds, trying to repair the lost limbs, with most of them being restored.
Finally, as the powerful energy spread through his mana arteries, a vital part that serves the same usage as a normal artery, transporting both blood and mana throughout the body, he began to feel the holes in his arteries close themselves up, feeling how an uneven skin was formed atop them, one that was quite clearly not nice to look at.
After this had gone on for a time which he had no way to decipher he could hear again, with his hearing being restored before any other sense, with him currently barely being able to feel using his skin.
He heard nothing, it was almost entirely silent except for a kind of screeching, the screams that still resided in the back of his mind, and the crackling of what seemed to be a flame that was probably slowly creeping towards him with it's tongue stretched out, ready to dance on his body and devour him, but it never reached him.
The flames continued to crackle, devouring everything and probably dancing to the tune of the wind that was now blowing across the endless lush forest, the cold breeze that was picking up and started to feel like a small typhoon.
And then the wind suddenly ended, and the flames crackled no more, as if having been blowed out by the breath of a giant taller than the tree that they had been fighting around this entire time, as if blown out by the typhoon that Cades had no idea of who could have called it.
Perhaps it was just natural, but as his mind began to heal, the little pieces of his skull that had caved in, causing him to barely be able to think or feel, began to heal at an astonishing rate, though still barely enough for him to survive, consequently also causing his pain to grow much, much worse.
The pain that had now worsened because the parts of his pain that were damaged had been almost completely repaired was horrible, but by far not as bad as when he was attacked by that monstrosity for the second time and his entire mind was turned into pure agony, as he heard the endless screams.
But the screams by themselves still hadn't stopped, there might've been no more pain but the needless screams had never stopped, albeit they were now much more quiet, barely akin to a whisper, but he simply could not stop them, they were there, in the back of his mind, the back of his self, the back of his soul, they were simply there, and they were terrifying.
It was still painful, but little by little he began to see once more, realizing that he had never really closed his eyes... they had simply been damaged too much, or at least that seemed to be the case after something was pushed out of his right eye and another thing was pushed out of his right eye, landing atop the dirty ground that had once been of a serene light brown colour but was now a see of dark red.
