Chapter 357 - 307: Gathering of Ten Thousand Buddhas Converges Luck_2
If the transcendence of the Heavenly Dao was successful, it would slay the malignant tumor. If transcendence failed, the Human Path of this world would be destroyed, swallowed and assimilated by the Otherworldly Heavenly Dao, and would continue to evolve in a distorted form.
"The transcendence of the Heavenly Dao is a revolution. The Heavenly Dao seeks to overthrow its own destiny, and with revolution comes countless bloodshed. There is no right or wrong in the revolution of the Heavenly Dao; however, revolutions on the Human Path are often twisted by those with ulterior motives, so much that even the Son of Heaven’s Mandate cannot grasp it," Wukong saw the root of this battle, as well as the future development of the Human Path, so he knew all of this must be stopped.
He took his place in the center of the Ten Thousand Buddhas Pilgrimage Formation, seated upon a lotus platform. Then, he placed his Magical Treasure before the small altar in front of the lotus platform, which could activate the power of the Magical Treasure.
Three Thousand Buddhas were arrayed upon lotus platforms, each placing their Magical Treasures upon the altars before them, primarily consisting of Sharira.
"Elder Brother Zhen Yuanzi holds the teacher’s Ten Thousand Immortals’ Talismanic Scripts and has gone to the South Sea to ask the ancient powers to set up the Ten Thousand Immortals Great Formation. I wonder, between the ten thousand Buddhas and the ten thousand immortals, who is more formidable?" Wukong thought to himself.
During the reign of Emperor Huizong of Song, he had conferred the title of Greatly Enlightened Golden Immortal upon Buddha, so even Buddha Ancestor could be called "Golden Immortal." Within this Ten Thousand Immortals Great Formation, there were also genuine Buddhas of the Spirit Mountain. It seemed as though this Emperor’s actions had somehow linked to karma.
The words of the Human Emperor could change the national destiny, and the transformation of the Human Path could even affect the Dao of Immortals. Therefore, as Human Emperor, one must possess great divine providence and great merit to carry this providence. Without virtue, one naturally meets destruction. Emperor Yang of Sui was of the latter, devoid of virtue, hence the early demise of the Sui Dynasty.
Guanyin, Manjushri, and Samantabhadra Bodhisattva all nodded to each other, ready to act from within and without when the time came. However, these Bodhisattvas were arranged on the outer perimeter of the Great Array, further out were the Vajra, Bhikkhunis, Holy Monks, and other lower ranks.
The Bodhisattva Great Array was controlled by Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva, a person of astonishing talent. Tathagata had even gone so far as to expend the Power of the Heavens to brainwash him thoroughly.
"I have foreseen that my Mount Meru will face a great apocalypse! A group of false Buddhas and Bodhisattvas will come to usurp and take over the Buddhist sect, promoting their counterfeit kindness and justice. We, benevolent in heart, thinking of all sentient beings, must not allow them entry into Mount Meru, but instead should annihilate them thoroughly. As they say, ’If I do not enter hell, who will?’ This time, I ask all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas to accompany me into hell," Tathagata declared loudly, distorting right and wrong, portraying Siddhartha Gautama Buddha and others as devils attempting to occupy Mount Meru and perverting the Buddhist Law.
Wukong couldn’t help but secretly chuckle at how skillfully Tathagata spread dissension. But he could only follow the other Buddhas in responding, "We obey the law’s command!"
Descending from the sky was a monk in white robes, none other than Mahavairocana Buddha, holding a world in his hand—the Buddhist Vedha Continent. Numerous masters of the Esoteric Sect jumped out from his hand.
