"Caden, are you sure you’re eating properly there? I can visit you on the weekend."

"Mom, please I’m fine. Uncle Kyle and Aunt Emily are very hands-on. They make sure that my meals were healthy."

I talked to Caden almost every day. He was still in Flousia after three years Benjamin was transferred to Germany. His trial came soon after he arrived there and got the death penalty.

We still don’t know the date of the execution, but I was always hoping that it would happen soon.

Caden was already ten years old and his voice changed as well as his behavior. He became mature and sometimes talked like a royal.

"How are you and Alira? Still talking on the phone until midnight?"

"Mom, we are not allowed to do that remember? We’re both focusing on our studies. We haven’t talked for months now." He said.

"You’re still young. Alira is fine. Don’t worry about her. Besides, you’re already engaged. Even if you don’t talk to her, she’s still your fiance."

I know what I said was wrong. The kids needed to talk to know about each other. If not, they will eventually grow apart and might break in the future.

"How’s Caden?" Jayden asked.

"He said he’s fine. But I know he’s worried about Alira. Don’t you think I was being too harsh?" I asked.
