Chapter 318: Thank You, My Love
"Commander? Why are you back so early?"
Wendelyn checked the peephole. Seeing the commander outside, she opened the door.
"It got boring, so I came back." Lorna stepped into the mansion suite's small living room, the Swallow Slash resting on her right shoulder. She glanced at her mercenary sisters gathering around. "Is there any late-night snack?"
This was one of their mercenary group's safe houses, also located in Furuta Mansion on Shuhui Street.
The term "mansion" was Kabukicho area slang for multi-story reinforced concrete apartment buildings. This one was seven stories high, featured an old elevator, and crammed five or six households onto every floor.
Their rented suite had two bedrooms and a living room. It would have been spacious for one or two people, but seven or eight of them lived here.
Commander Lorna sometimes stayed over, as she had been for the past few days.
But she was back a little early today. She had gone out wearing a skirt for the first time—what happened?
Given what they knew about their commander, though, her relaxed demeanor and light footsteps suggested nothing was wrong.
