Chapter 247: Latent Special-Impairment Persons
Like the Acropolis District, the Garden District boasted many luxurious high-end hotels. By comparison, the Rose Hotel was rather ordinary. Situated right along the street, it lacked amenities like large gardens, swimming pools, or private clubs.
Tonight, Elizabeth was hosting a charity banquet here.
The standard-sized banquet hall was decorated simply. An illuminated "Red Rain Home" sign had been hung up, accompanied by just a few balloons and a photo wall featuring homeless children.
The food on the salon tables was strictly portioned to one serving per person. Any leftovers were to be packed up and taken home; absolutely nothing would be wasted.
Moreover, the meal consisted entirely of cheap vegetarian fare, with no expensive alcohol in sight.
Elizabeth hadn't worn an evening gown, opting instead for her usual olive-green jacket and jeans.
The banquet had no dress code, so casual was fine. Showing up in an evening gown would actually make someone the odd one out.
As guests began to arrive, Elizabeth stood at the banquet hall doors to welcome them personally. Every invitee tonight was a young woman. Upon entering, they immediately glanced around the room.
"Sister Liz, your charity organization seems to be doing quite well."
