Chapter 217: Gold Program
The research lab in the Yakuza Headquarters Building was called a lab, but it looked more like a meditation room. It featured tatami floors, classical calligraphy and paintings on the walls, and a vibrant potted plant on the tea table.
A few pieces of machinery and flesh equipment for tinkering with programs sat beside a wooden couch. Bizarre in design, they sprouted bundles of wires and blood threads.
Mr. Shibasaki, the Nagano-gumi's chief alchemist, gave Gu He and the others a brief introduction. Because transferring Personality Raw Material required a quiet, relaxed environment, Shibasaki left at Gu He's request.
Chiba also disconnected from the mind network, returning to her true body in the wasteland to wait for the results.
Even Vivian couldn't join the excitement. Along with Sakai Huaqing, she waited in the lounge just outside the lab.
Only Gu He and Lorna remained, sitting side by side on the wooden couch.
He skipped the provided empathy helmet, connecting directly to her with the blood threads from his head. He also plugged a few threads into the bizarre flesh compiler just for show; the one he was actually using, of course, was the compiler in his Console.
"Lorna, we can get started," Gu He said. "Just focus hard on everything related to the Hunter Series."
"That's a lot of stuff. Don't let your brain blow out," Lorna said. She was in a fairly relaxed mood.
