Chapter 190: A Messed-Up City
When the braindance ended, everyone experiencing the dream returned to reality.
But the small apartment room remained dead silent. Lorna exited the Legion, severing the empathic connection. She stood up from the tatami floor, finished off her beer, and walked to the window, silently gazing out at the rainy, misty night sky.
Gu He stood up as well. "Are you still heading to Licai tonight?"
He needed to make a trip to the Fishpond to let the grieving Miss Sakai return to her own body.
It left a bad taste in his mouth, too. If Lorna was heading that way, they could go together.
"Not right now," Lorna decided, downing the rest of her beer. "I'm leaving."
Her mind was a mess. Pandora and Flynn's past, along with all those swirling emotions, kept flashing through her mind. It made her want to avoid people. She wanted to get away, to shrink into her leather jacket all by herself.
"Lorna..." Gu He said. "Whatever happened, none of it was your fault."
"Did I say it was? This isn't about who's right or wrong, it's not about that at all... I'm out of here."
