Chapter 112: Some Intelligence
Pandora.
After delivering the news, the red-eyed kid from the Black Panther Gang left with his two companions. Before walking out, he shot a glance at Fist Guy, raising a fist and pantomiming racking a slide—the gang's signature gesture.
"Dean, the Dongtu People say this is what produces truth, not music."
Once the three were gone, Fist Guy—who hadn't caught the exchange clearly—waved off Sakai Huaqing's attempt to translate.
"I can guess they're spouting some Black Panther ideology. There are several Dongtu People right here, so why would I listen to them?"
Over by the bar, however, one of those Dongtu People—Gu He—froze. Pandora?
"Pandora?" Lorna muttered. Her sharp brows twitched before she let out an amused laugh. "Pandora? Just someone with the same name? Or is it actually them? How would that androgynous freak get my Personality Raw Material?"
She set her massive, flowerpot-sized bowl down on the bar. The more she thought about it, the more baffled she felt. "Damn it, I got played right to my face..."
That day, she had foolishly watched Pandora walk away with the cash—money that was probably meant to fund her own capture.
