Chapter 779. Weakening the Primeval Scortaur
Aside from giving the Titan Battle Puppet a power upgrade, Zee Whang also equipped it with many weapons. One of which was the explosive pellets in its knuckles. After the Titan Battle Puppet smashed the Primeval Scortaur into the ground, its assault had not ended. The fist that pinned the Scortaur to the ground began to shine. This shine came from the four knuckles in its fist. These knuckles released a powerful explosion, pressing the Scortaur deeper into the ground. The ground caved in under the pressure.
The Primeval Scortaur’s tail repeatedly stabbed the Titan Battle Puppet during the process. Unfortunately, its poison was completely useless against the mechanical being. All its stinger did was cause multiple puncture marks on the puppet. Its outer shell was thick, though, so those stabs didn’t damage its internal circuits.
The Titan Battle Puppet didn’t relent. It didn’t let go of the advantage it gained from the ambush. It punched relentlessly with its two fists. The nonstop punching prevented the Primeval Scortaur from escaping.
"Kiii...!!"
The Primeval Scortaur’s screech was different from before. It no longer sounded like laughter. Instead, its sound was filled with rage.
It let out another angry screech as it pushed its body up. Its forceful push let it resist the force from the Titan Battle Puppet’s downward pummeling. Once it had enough space to move, it shoved its two scythes at the Titan Battle Puppet.
The scythes caused two deep gashes along the Titan Battle Puppet’s body. The Titan Battle Puppet wasn’t fazed. None of its inner circuit was damaged. It punched again as if nothing had happened.
The Primeval Scortaur jumped away before it received another punch. A battle puppet was its worst opponent. It completely nullified its primary advantage, which was its toxin.
The Titan Battle Puppet didn’t let its opponent go just like that. It used its other weapon. Its lower arm began to spin. As its spinning went faster, it punched that arm forward. The spinning arm detached at its elbow. The detached part became an afterburner, producing jet fire that propelled the spinning arm forward.
The spinning arm caught the Primeval Scortaur during its jump. It first hit the human body dangling at the front section of the Scortaur. The arm drilled through the fake body, freeing two of the stuck Alpha Flying Knives in the process. It proceeded forward and slammed into the Scortaur’s back.
The Primeval Scortaur uttered a pained screech as it flew further back from the impact. The spinning arm flew back and reattached itself to the Titan Battle Puppet.
The shell at the Primeval Scortaur’s back was no longer perfect. Cracks were visible in that shell. The multiple pummeling, added with the spinning missile punch, had broken through its tough defense.
The scortaur was pissed. It hissed continuously as its six legs tapped on the ground. It swayed left and right frenziedly, like someone who was both drunk and impatient. Amon figured it was probably measuring whether it should cut its losses or continue fighting.
Amon reasserted control of the two Alpha Flying Knives. His body could still not move properly, but he had no trouble using his Flying Sword art. Shadow energy from his Elder God Veil wrapped the knives again. They then flew behind the Primeval Scortaur. They dissuaded the Scortaur from fleeing and kept its tail busy, while the Titan Battle Puppet charged from the front.
The Primeval Scortaur let out an angry screech as it lunged forward. Its pride took over. All the prey here was weaker than it. It didn’t believe it could not defeat them.
Its lunge was quick. It slammed into the charging Titan Battle Puppet. The impact staggered the puppet. Its two scythes turned into a blur, attempting to dice the battle puppet into scraps.
However, a layer of light enveloped the Titan Battle Puppet. This was a protective barrier similar to the one possessed by the Beta Battle Puppet, only stronger. It took the Scortaur’s scythes multiple hits to shatter the protective barrier. But by the time it did, the Titan Battle Puppet had regained its balance.
The Titan Battle Puppet punched forward as the Scortaur’s scythe slashed its body. Their attacks both struck, but only one party felt the pain.
The Titan Battle Puppet had again struck the same spot as before. The already cracked shell received further damage. The cracked pieces fell off, revealing tender flesh beneath.
"Kiii...!!!" The Primeval Scortaur felt his armor chip off. At the same time, it felt a strong gust of wind near its back.
The gale came from Xou Liang, who had been waiting for an opportunity. His movement art let it arrive in an instant. His wind-enhanced mace whacked into the hole in the Scortaur’s shell. The mace directly hit the unprotected flesh of the Scortaur.
Xou Liang wasn’t done. The wind energy accompanying its mace exploded upon impact. This caused further damage to the Primeval Scortaur’s innards.
The Scortaur’s tail retaliated on instinct. Xou Liang didn’t expect such a swift retaliation. He saw his death as the stinger approached. Luckily, Amon’s Alpha Flying Knives intercepted the stinger. Their intervention redirected the stinger. It flew only a hair’s breadth past Xou Liang’s face.
Xou Liang quickly retreated in fright. Even if it were only a graze from the stinger, he would have died.
The Primveal Scortaur finally regretted its decision not to flee. It could feel the wound inside itself was not light. Its movements became sluggish.
The Titan Battle Puppet punched again. It had many deep gashes in its body, but it continued to push forward. It went on full offense, throwing punches left and right without any attempt to block. The Primeval Scortaur hit back using its scythes and tail. The bout turned into an exchange of blows.
The Titan Battle Puppet finally received enough damage. A huge chunk of the outer plate on its chest was torn apart. Its left arm was cut off.
However, because the Primeval Scortaur used both his scythes and tail to fight the Titan Battle Puppet, its awareness of Amon’s Alpha Flying Knives had lessened. Amon utilized the opportunity right when the Primeval Scortaur delivered a wide swing that cut off the Titan Battle Puppet’s arm. The two knives slipped in and stabbed into the exposed flesh on the Scortaur’s back.
The Primeval Scortaur screeched loudly from the pain.
The Titan Battle Puppet didn’t back off despite losing one arm. It landed another punch using its remaining arm. It ignited the explosive pellets on its knuckle following that solid punch. The resulting explosions sent the Primeval Scortaur crashing into the wall.
The Titan Battle Puppet continued to advance. Sparks were seen from its damaged parts, indicating its internal circuit had also suffered damage, but it didn’t back down. It crashed into the rear part of the Scortaur and held its tail.
"Xou Liang!" Amon exclaimed as he advanced. He had cleansed the toxin in his body and could move again.
Xou Liang, who had been too scared to approach, was stirred by Amon’s call. He advanced following Amon’s lead.
With the Titan Battle Puppet holding the Primeval Scortaur’s tail, the spirit beast lost its most lethal weapon. It could only use its scythes to fight Xou Liang and Amon. While his scythes clashed with the two, the Alpha Flying Knives stuck in its back were ripped out, causing jet streams of blood.
The Primeval Scortaur screeched from the pain but didn’t lose its focus. Its two scythes never stopped clashing against Amon’s dagger and Xou Liang’s mace. Unfortunately for it, it had too many opponents. The Alpha Flying Knives, which were free, spun rapidly into whirling saws. These two saws, enhanced by the darkness elements, sliced past the Primeval Scortaur’s six legs.
In an instant, the Primeval Scortaur lost its ability to walk. Amon used the Invisible Sky Steps and zoomed above the immobile Scortaur’s back. He stabbed his Crimson Dagger into the exposed flesh. The dagger ignited a fierce flame, causing further injury to the Scortaur.
Xou Liang also managed to steal a chance when the Primeval Scortaur was distracted by the pain. Its mace slipped in and smashed into the junction between the Scortaur’s human and scorpion bodies. It turned out that the part directly below the human body was the Scortaur’s head. The smash caused the Scortaur intense dizziness.
The Primeval Scortaur’s movement completely stopped. Amon used the chance and delivered a powerful slash. His target was the Scortaur’s human shoulder, where the scythes were attached. The scythe was too hard to cut, but the shoulder part was not. The human body could regenerate rapidly, but Amon didn’t believe it could regenerate the scythe as quickly.
The power slash cut the shoulder, and the scythe fell off. Amon did the same to the other shoulder. Meanwhile, Xou Liang continued to hit the Scortaur’s head.
The other scythe fell off. After Amon disarmed the Primeval Scortaur, he took out five throwing knives and stabbed them into the Scortaur’s wounded flesh. The knives were imbued with Endless Slumber Poison. Under normal circumstances, this poison wouldn’t affect a spirit beast like the Primeval Scortaur. However, it had been greatly weakened, the poison dose was high, and it was injected directly into its system. Even if the poison couldn’t bring about its full effect, it would still cause some effect.
Amon took out several runic chains and threw them at Xou Liang.
"Stop hitting! Bind it using these!" Amon commanded.
Xou Liang paused. He wanted to ask why they didn’t just kill the beast, but he saw Amon also holding runic chains and was already tying the beast’s rear.
