Chapter 104: Shadow Beyond The Guild
The guild hall was louder than usual.
Wooden tables were filled with villagers eating, laughing, polishing their weapons. Since the guild opened, everything had changed. There were quests pinned on the wall. Monster bounties. Delivery jobs. Even requests from other villages for help.
Some villagers were still Bronze rank, others had earned Copper or even Iron. The newest update was the skill system—skills could now be learned just by doing things.
Garin had explained it at the last town hall.
"If you farm, you unlock Farming. Fight? You'll unlock Sword or Archery. You don't need books or scrolls anymore."
It lit a fire in people. They trained harder. Practiced daily. The once-shy blacksmith's apprentice now had Hammer Mastery Level 2. A baker unlocked Fire Magic by accident while lighting his oven with too much mana.
Today, a new class opened: Guild Training Grounds.
A young girl named Teya stood in the center of the training ring. She held a wooden sword, shaking slightly.
"Okay," said Borin, watching from the side. "You've been practicing footwork. Let's test it."
Teya stepped forward and swung.
The dummy's head bounced off.
