CH.777 Wing Raiders and Pendulum Evolution
No evolutions today, because I have to deal with a fissure. The evolved Card Venturers are coming to deal with it, while the last three are undergoing their evolutions. I’ll go over their results next time.
So yeah. We dealt with the fissure the way we do. It wasn’t hard, not that it usually is, but my evolved Card Venturers made it even easier than before. Even if they were three people short.
But I know what you all want. … okay, I also want it. New sets. And as you may have figured out, I got two today.
Wing Raiders and Pendulum Evolution.
So let’s get back to HomeBase so I can open some packs.
Starting of course with 10 packs of Wind Raiders.
Spoiler
WIRA 1
Super Quantal Fairy Alphan; Call of the Haunted; Needlebug Nest; Mystical Space Typhoon; Raidraptor - Singing Lanius; Raidraptor - Nest; Raidraptor - Mimicry Lanius; Super Quantum Blue Layer; Icarus Attack
[collapse]
Yeah, I expected this. I got 2 sets, so they have repeats. But there are still new cards.
Super Quantal Fairy Alphan is a great card for a Super Quant deck, and it can also get me the rest of the Super Quant main deck. Well, the monsters at least. Though I’d guess the rest are in this set, so I don’t need Alphan to get them.
The other new card in this pack is Super Quantum Blue Layer. It searches for Super Quants.
Next pack.
Spoiler
WIRA 2
The Phantom Knights of Ragged Gloves; Bottomless Trap Hole; Call of the Haunted; Bujinki Amaterasu; Forbidden Chalice; Raidraptor - Mimicry Lanius; Gem-Knight Pearl; Phantom Knights' Sword; Super Quantal Mech Beast Aeroboros
[collapse]
The Phantom Knights of Ragged Gloves gives a Dark Xyz summoned using it an extra 1k attack.
Phantom Knights' Sword gives a monster an 800 attack boost, and also destroys itself to protect the monster from battle or card effect destruction.
And Super Quantal Mech Beast Aeroboros changes monsters to face down defense.
Next pack.
Spoiler
WIRA 3
Bujinki Amaterasu; The Phantom Knights of Ragged Gloves; Raidraptor - Mimicry Lanius; Raidraptor - Revolution Falcon; Reinforcement of the Army; Bottomless Trap Hole; Raidraptor - Last Strix; Super Quantum Red Layer; Rank-Up-Magic Doom Double Force
[collapse]
Raidraptor - Last Strix is an interesting card. I know I’m missing a few Raidraptor Xyz monsters, so it can get me those. It is also really cool in TCG, as you can summon the Rank 10 or 12 Raidraptors with ease using Last Strix and Skip Force.
Super Quantum Red Layer specials itself, recovers a Super Quant from the GY when it does, and if sent to the GY, specials a Super Quant from the GY.
Next pack.
Spoiler
WIRA 4
Gem-Knight Pearl; Crane Crane; Super Quantal Fairy Alphan; Number 66: Master Key Beetle; Raidraptor - Sharp Lanius; Super Quantal Mech Sword - Magnaslayer; Raidraptor - Readiness; Number 101: Silent Honor ARK; Phantom Knights' Spear
[collapse]
Super Quantal Mech Sword - Magnaslayer is a decent equip trap. It really should have just been an Equip Spell, but what do I know? It is a bit limited, so it isn’t as great as it could be, but you still run 1 copy in most Super Quant decks.
Phantom Knights' Spear burns your opponent when they use cards or effects that target Phantom Knights monsters.
Next pack.
Spoiler
WIRA 5
The Phantom Knights of Ragged Gloves; Raidraptor - Last Strix; Super Quantal Fairy Alphan; Forbidden Chalice; Reinforcement of the Army; Rank-Up-Magic Astral Force; Call of the Haunted; Super Quantal Mech Beast Magnaliger; Phantom Knights' Sword
[collapse]
Super Quantal Mech Beast Magnaliger is of course the Rank 5 Super Quant. It is probably the best, as it has a quick effect detach 1 to destroy a monster.
Next pack.
Spoiler
WIRA 6
Call of the Haunted; Raidraptor - Mimicry Lanius; Bottomless Trap Hole; Rank-Up-Magic Astral Force; Mystical Space Typhoon; Cairngorgon, Antiluminescent Knight; Zubaba General; Phantom Knights' Spear; Super Quantal Mech Beast Aeroboros
[collapse]
Zubaba General is really cool. You can equip a Warrior from your hand to it, and General gains its attack. Which lets you equip either Gate Guardian or Dark Guardian to it, and this monster will have 5750 or 5800 attack. I know it is just a playground card, but that is still cool.
Next pack.
Spoiler
WIRA 7
Raidraptor - Vanishing Lanius; Reinforcement of the Army; Number 66: Master Key Beetle; Forbidden Chalice; Cairngorgon, Antiluminescent Knight; The Phantom Knights of Shadow Veil; Raidraptor - Sharp Lanius; Number 101: Silent Honor ARK; Phantom Knights' Spear
[collapse]
Nothing new here, next.
Spoiler
WIRA 8
Phantom Knights' Wing; Crane Crane; Cairngorgon, Antiluminescent Knight; Rank-Up-Magic Astral Force; The Phantom Knights of Shadow Veil; Super Quantal Mech Sword - Magnaslayer; Raidraptor - Fuzzy Lanius; Gagaga Cowboy; Icarus Attack
[collapse]
Phantom Knights' Wing gives a monster 500 and destroys itself to protect the monster. And it can banish itself to special ‘The Phantom Knights’ monster from the GY.
Next pack.
Spoiler
WIRA 9
Raidraptor - Sharp Lanius; Super Quantal Mech Sword - Magnaslayer; Raidraptor - Mimicry Lanius; Rank-Up-Magic Astral Force; Raidraptor - Readiness; Bottomless Trap Hole; The Phantom Knights of Shadow Veil; The Phantom Knights of Cloven Helm; Number 101: Silent Honor ARK
[collapse]
The Phantom Knights of Cloven Helm gains 500 if a Phantom Knights card is sent to the GY, and that is permanent and it stacks. It can also banish itself from the GY to add a Phantom Knights card from the GY to hand.
Next pack.
Spoiler
WIRA 10
Raidraptor - Sharp Lanius; Raidraptor - Readiness; Raidraptor - Nest; Call of the Haunted; Raidraptor - Last Strix; Forbidden Chalice; Rank-Up-Magic Astral Force; Xyz Reborn; Phantom Knights' Sword
[collapse]
And nothing new here.
Now, normally I’d move to the next new set, but this set is mostly repeats, so I’ll just set up Capsules for everything I’m missing. It probably isn’t all that many cards. Just the last like … 3 Super Quants, and maybe few more Phantom Knights.
… I was wrong. There were actually 13 cards I was missing. Well, not for long as I’ll get all of them in the coming days.
Super Quantum Green Layer specials a Super Quant from the hand when it is summoned.
Super Quantal Mech Ship Magnacarrier is the enabler the Super Quants need to do basically anything, so it is great to have. It is also a Spell Card that summons a ship, so that is cool.
And Super Quantal Mech King Great Magnus is one of the coolest looking monsters ever. And it is pretty strong. I feel like Wilma might want one to join her lineup of Machine Xyz monsters, so I’ll get her copies of Super Quant monsters.
Spoiler
[collapse]
Raidraptors are actually the reason this set had more cards I was missing that expected. Because I was missing 5 of them.
Raidraptor - Necro Vulture recovers Rank-Up-Magics, but you need to tribute a Raidraptor for it and you can only Xyz summon using RUMs for the rest of the turn.
Raidraptor - Tribute Lanius can foolish a Raidraptor on the turn it’s summoned. Which might as well just say Mimicry Lanius, as that is what you are milling most of the time. Tribute Lanius can also search for a Quick-Play Rank-Up-Magic when it destroys a monster by battle.
Raidraptor - Force Strix is easy to summon and can search for Dark Winged Beast monsters.
Raidraptor - Satellite Cannon Falcon nukes the backrow on summon, and that cannot be responded to. And it can weaken an opposing monster by 800 for each Raidraptor in your GY.
Raidraptor - Call special summons another copy of a Raidraptor on the field from your hand or deck.
Spoiler
[collapse]
For Phantom Knights, we have 4 cards.
Phantom Knights' Fog Blade negates the effects of a monster, makes it unable to attack, but also unable to be attacked. And it can banish itself to special a Phantom Knights from the GY.
The Phantom Knights of Ancient Cloak has a meh on field effect, but the GY effect is banishing itself for a search, which is nice.
The Phantom Knights of Fragile Armor specials itself when a Phantom Knights monster is destroys. And it can banish itself to let you discard a Phantom Knights to draw a card.
The Phantom Knights of Silent Boots specials itself if you control a Phantom Knights monster. And it can banish itself to search for a Phantom Knights Spell or Trap.
Spoiler
[collapse]
And the last card from Wind Raiders is Booby Trap E. It lets you discard a card to set a Continuous Trap from your hand or the GY, and it can be activated this turn. Not all that worth it, but there are some powerful Continuous Traps.
Spoiler
[collapse]
But since I completed the first of the two sets, let’s see if I need to do the same with the other one.
But first, 10 packs of Pendulum Evolution.
Spoiler
PEVO 1
Nobledragon Magician; Stellarknight Zefraxciton; Magical Abductor; Astrograph Sorcerer; Chronograph Sorcerer
[collapse]
And Pendulum Evolution only has 5 cards per pack. … and at least from this pack only 1 is new. But that might be because I got both Astrograph and Chronograph Sorcerers from the Pendulum challenge.
Nobledragon Magician is a Pendulum Tuner monster with a bunch of limiters. But it does special summon itself if you control an Odd-Eyes, so … it still isn’t all that great.
Next pack.
Spoiler
PEVO 2
Ritual Beast Tamer Zefrawendi; Lector Pendulum, the Dracoverlord; Stellarknight Zefraxciton; Black Fang Magician; Chronograph Sorcerer
[collapse]
Black Fang Magician can halve the attack of an opposing monster, and can special a Dark Spellcaster from your GY after it is destroyed by battle or card effect.
Next pack.
Spoiler
PEVO 3
Pendulum Shift; Lector Pendulum, the Dracoverlord; Wisdom-Eye Magician; Chronograph Sorcerer; Double Iris Magician
[collapse]
Wisdom-Eye Magician is … alright I suppose. While a Pen scale, it can destroy itself to place a different Magician Pendulum monster to be a scale. The monster effect on the other hand is just trash. It just returns an altered Pendulum scale to be what it originally was.
Double Iris Magician can double the damage a Dark Spellcaster deals that turn. And if destroyed, you add a Pendulumgraph card to your hand. I don’t even have any of those yet. I think there was a Continuous Spell and a Continuous Trap, and they were … alright? We’ll see when I get them.
Next pack.
Spoiler
PEVO 4
Echo Oscillation; Tuning Magician; Oracle of Zefra; Astrograph Sorcerer; Timestar Magician
[collapse]
Timestar Magician searches Dark Spellcaster, and lets you send a Spellcaster from the deck to the GY when a Spellcaster would be destroyed to protect that Spellcaster. So not bad.
Next pack.
Spoiler
PEVO 5
Oracle of Zefra; Guiding Ariadne; Zefraxi, Treasure of the Yang Zing; Purple Poison Magician; White Wing Magician
[collapse]
Purple Poison Magician can give a Dark Spellcaster a 1200 attack boost for the damage step, and it destroys a face up card on the field when destroyed.
Next pack.
Spoiler
PEVO 6
Dragon's Mirror; Master Pendulum, the Dracoslayer; Odd-Eyes Vortex Dragon; Star Pendulumgraph; Black Fang Magician
[collapse]
Well, Star Pendulumgraph is a Continuous Spell, so I was at least somewhat correct. It is a good consistency piece that also provides protection for Spellcasters.
Next pack.
Spoiler
PEVO 7
Hypnosister; Rescue Hamster; Wisdom-Eye Magician; Purple Poison Magician; Double Iris Magician
[collapse]
Nothing new here, next.
Spoiler
PEVO 8
Rescue Hamster; Raremetalfoes Bismugear; Stargazer Magician; Double Iris Magician; Purple Poison Magician
[collapse]
Nothing new here, next.
Spoiler
PEVO 9
Hypnosister; Timegazer Magician; Timebreaker Magician; Astrograph Sorcerer; White Wing Magician
[collapse]
Nothing new here, next.
Spoiler
PEVO 10
Dharma-Eye Magician; Wisdom-Eye Magician; Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon; Harmonizing Magician; Astrograph Sorcerer
[collapse]
Harmonizing Magician gives your monsters a 100 attack and defense boost for each face up Magician Pendulum monster in your extra deck, which can be quite a nice boost. And when Pendulum summoned from the hand, you get to special summon a Magician Pendulum monster from the deck, but its effects are negated and it is banished when it leaves the field.
But yeah. That was today’s opening. Next time, I’ll start by setting up the Capsules for this set, as I doubt I’m missing that many cards. I’d do it now, but … I don’t want to keep you too long.
And I’m sure the last Venturers will have finished their evolutions, so you’ll see what they’ve evolved into.
