Yugioh Card Summoner

CH.733 Shining Victories

You heard what I said last time. There is one more fissure before my trip to the past.

Sure I could have left it for after the past adventure, but I’m just going to deal with it beforehand. Because of the extra set. As I’ve said, I might have to spend a few weeks in the past, so I want to have a few sets I can open while there.

Today, Alice and Lua came with me. Of course I could deal with the fissure by myself, but I appreciated the company. But they acted a bit too much like I’d be gone for a long time. For them, it should be a few seconds. For me … well, we’ll see when I’m in the past. Probably a few weeks, but it might be a few months.

The fissure was quite the boring one, with no SS-ranks. An S-rank core did fall out of it, which quickly took in massive amounts of dirt and stone, forming an earth golem.

Despite its size, it was quite fast. It does have an S-rank core, so I suppose that is to be expected. But despite that, it was no problem for Alice. After all, she could also use Earth Magic.

So she made a golem of her own, having it hold down the slightly larger S-rank golem. But as long as the fissure golem stood in place, it would be easy to deal with.

Alice dealt with it by using Erasure Magic to dig a route to the golems core, and as soon as she did, she placed the core into Storage, removing the golems ability to move.

Golems and Storage work in a strange way. You can’t put a golem with a core into Storage, as it is a ‘living thing’. But you can put a golems core into Storage, as well as a golems body that has no core into Storage.

You can also put golems into magic bags for some reason. Probably because they have no heart. But if I put one into a magic bag, that magic bag can’t be placed into Storage. And no, you can’t put a ‘living’ golem into Item Box or Inventory either.

A few more earth golems also formed under the fissure, but unlike with the S-rank, their cores formed in the ground. I don’t really know why the S-rank had its core fall from the fissure, but I also don’t understand how fissures work.

For example, why do fissures always seem to spawn one family of monsters? This time it was only earth golems. Some other time they’ve spawned only wolf monsters. Or only wyverns, and so on. It is because the creation energy that comes to this side is ‘programmed’ to become those sorts of monsters? Or maybe it has something to do with what part of the Chaos God Dimension the fissure links to.

Well, whatever. We closed the fissure and returned to HomeBase. And as always, I have a new set to play with.

That set is Shining Victories. And guess what. This set has Blue-Eyes support! I know at least Spirit Dragon is here as it is the cover card. Though I already have it. But there should be some of the Eyes of Blue monsters as well, and maybe some spells or traps.

So let’s see what I can get from 10 packs.

Spoiler

SHVI 1

Wonder Xyz; Finite Cards; Bug Emergency; Digital Bug Corebage; Re-dyce-cle; Raidraptor - Avenge Vulture; Lunalight White Rabbit; Amorphactor Pain, the Imagination Dracoverlord; Performapal Odd-Eyes Unicorn

[collapse]

Wonder Xyz I already had.

Finite Cards is just ‘why would I use this?’

Bug Emergency resurrects two level 3 Insects for an Xyz or Synchro play.

Digital Bug Corebage can shuffle defense position monsters into the deck, and it gains material each time a monster is changed to defense position.

Re-dyce-cle specials a Speedroid from the GY and makes its level be the result of a die roll.

Raidraptor - Avenge Vulture specials itself when you take damage.

Lunalight White Rabbit specials a Lunalight from the GY and allows you to return the opponent’s spells and traps to hand, up to the number of Lunalight monsters you control.

Amorphactor Pain, the Imagination Dracoverlord hates Fusion, Synchro and Xyz monsters, which isn’t that useful for me. But skipping the opponent’s main phase 1 might be interesting.

And Performapal Odd-Eyes Unicorn can boost the attack of an Odd-Eyes monster, or give you life points. And monsters that can heal are always nice.

SHVI 2

Rise to Full Height; Amorphage Wrath; Lunalight Purple Butterfly; Digital Bug Corebage; Forge of the True Dracos; Digital Bug Websolder; Bug Emergency; Unwavering Bond; Lunalight Blue Cat

[collapse]

Rise to Full Height is basically just a worse D2 Shield.

Amorphage Wrath has the Amorphage problem of limiting both players to Amorphage monsters. Which does counter summoners, but nothing else. And I have seventy other cards that counter summoners.

Lunalight Purple Butterfly either gives a Lunalight a 1000 attack boost, or lets you special summon a Lunalight from the hand.

Forge of the True Dracos special summons stuff from the deck, so I’ll probably use it at some point.

Digital Bug Websolder is nice. Special summoning an Insect from the hand, changing stuff to defense and then even reducing everything's defense to 0.

Unwavering Bond counters Pendulum monsters.

Lunalight Blue Cat doubles the attack of a Lunalight on the field, and when destroyed, you get to special summon a Lunalight from the deck.

SHVI 3

Performapal Fireflux; Angel Trumpeter; Deskbot 009; Gendo the Ascetic Monk; Dinomist Spinos; Digital Bug Websolder; Rise to Full Height; Amorphage Gluttony; Tuner's High

[collapse]

Performapal Fireflux can negate attacks and end the battle phase while a scale. And as a monster, it gives all of your Performapal monsters the Ancient Gear effect where Spells and Traps can’t be used when they attack.

Angel Trumpeter is just a normal Tuner with 1900 attack.

Deskbot 009 gains the attack of all other Deskbots on the field, but at the cost of only it being able to attack that turn.

Gendo the Ascetic Monk prevents attack position monsters from activating their effects.

Dinomist Spinos has the Dinomist effect of destroying itself to protect other Dinomist cards. And as a monster, you can tribute another Dinomist to allow it to either attack directly or attack twice.

Amorphage Gluttony is just another Amorphage.

And Tuner's High is interesting. It can get me new Tuners.

SHVI 4

Blackwing - Decay the Ill Wind; Gendo the Ascetic Monk; Lunalight White Rabbit; Geargianchor; Amorphage Wrath; Bad Aim; Angel Trumpeter; Unwavering Bond; Lunalight Cat Dancer

[collapse]

Blackwing - Decay the Ill Wind can increase or decrease the level of a Blackwing by 1. But then it has the stupid downside of burning you for 1k during the end phase of the turn it was sent to the GY.

Geargianchor can turn itself face down, and when flipped face up, you get to destroy stuff up to the number of other Geargia monsters.

Bad Aim just destroys a card.

And Lunalight Cat Dancer is pretty nice. It can double attack, while making sure the first attack doesn’t kill the monster it is attacking. … Which admittedly isn’t all that great, as damage isn’t generally transferred to the summon in this world.

SHVI 5

Wonder Xyz; Rise to Full Height; Beacon of White; Bug Emergency; Fire King Island; Lunalight Black Sheep; Ryu Okami; Amorphage Greed; Cattle Call

[collapse]

Beacon of White resurrects a Blue-Eyes monster and allows it to attack multiple times. See. Told you this set has Blue-Eyes support.

Fire King Island is really nice when playing Fire Kings, and basically useless in anything else. But it is a new Field Spell and the Factory has plenty of empty rooms, so…

Lunalight Black Sheep can be discarded for either GY recovery or to search for Poly. And if used as a fusion material, you recover a Lunalight from the GY or face up in the extra deck to hand.

Ryu Okami is interesting, forcing your opponent to send a monster from the extra deck to the GY every time they special summon. But it really needs either some protection, or the ability to special summon itself.

Amorphage Greed is an Amorphage. They are all basically the same.

And Cattle Call specials random Beast, Beast-Warrior, or Winged Beast from the extra deck, so it could actually be really nice.

SHVI 6

Bug Matrix; Protector with Eyes of Blue; Lunalight Wolf; Raidraptor - Avenge Vulture; Rise to Full Height; Fire King Island; Digital Bug Corebage; Assault Blackwing - Chidori the Rain Sprinkling; Amorphage Gluttony

[collapse]

Bug Matrix is pretty meh, but it does what it needs to do.

Protector with Eyes of Blue is okay, but it is far from the best Eyes of Blue monster. It really should protect more instead of just allowing special summons from the hand.

Lunalight Wolf allows you to fusion summon a Lunalight by banishing the materials from field or GY. And as a monster, it gives Lunalights piercing.

Assault Blackwing - Chidori the Rain Sprinkling gains 300 more attack for each Blackwing in your GY.

SHVI 7

Amorphage Pride; Bug Matrix; Performapal Fireflux; World Carrotweight Champion; Amorphage Wrath; Digital Bug Corebage; Dinomist Eruption; Magical Cavalry of Cxulub; Red-Eyes Toon Dragon

[collapse]

Amorphage Pride is another Amorphage. This time the Pendulum effect protects from effect damage.

World Carrotweight Champion specials itself from the GY if you discard a Plant.

Dinomist Eruption just destroys a card.

Magical Cavalry of Cxulub is unaffected by activated monster effects, except Pendulum monsters.

And Red-Eyes Toon Dragon is one of the better Toons, as it has minimal restrictions and allows you to once per turn special summon a Toon from your hand.

SHVI 8

Cuben; Deskbot Base; Lunalight Black Sheep; Master with Eyes of Blue; Geargianchor; World Carrotweight Champion; Deskbot 009; Lunalight Cat Dancer; Amorphage Goliath

[collapse]

Cuben lets you roll a die and then neither player can summon monsters with that level.

Deskbot Base is nice. The attack boost is good, as is the ability to shuffle stuff back to the deck.

Master with Eyes of Blue recovers Light Tuners from the GY, and lets you trade an effect monster on the field for a Blue-Eyes in the GY.

And Amorphage Goliath just banishes everything while it is a Pen scale.

SHVI 9

Lunalight Tiger; Deskbot Base; Fire King Island; Amorphage Wrath; Dinomist Spinos; Rise to Full Height; Geargia Change; Mausoleum of White; Lunalight Panther Dancer

[collapse]

Lunalight Tiger, while a scale, lets you special a Lunalight from the GY. And as a monster, if it is destroyed, guess where you get to special a Lunalight from. That’s right, from the GY.

Geargia Change basically lets you Xyz summon using Geargias in the GY as material.

Mausoleum of White allows for an additional normal summon of a Light Tuner. And it can boost the attack of a monster on the field by up to 800.

Lunalight Panther Dancer can attack everything, twice, and it doesn’t kill them on first battle. It also gains attack for each monster it destroys, but only for the turn. Would have been better if it was each time it attacks.

SHVI 10

Angel Trumpeter; Digital Bug Cocoondenser; Lunalight Wolf; Digital Bug Corebage; Lunalight Black Sheep; Bad Aim; Geargia Change; Rank-Up-Magic Skip Force; The White Stone of Ancients

[collapse]

Digital Bug Cocoondenser specials a bug from the GY and if you Xyz summon using it, the Xyz monster gets the Ancient Gear effect. But only when attacking a defense position monster.

Lastly, Rank-Up-Magic Skip Force and The White Stone of Ancients are technically new from the set, but I did already have both. Skip Force thanks to Number 71 and White Stone of Ancients I got from the Synchro challenge.

But that was that pack opening. It is time for my jump to the past.

All six of us watched as Brian did his last check. He made sure he had everything and he was ready to go.

We then all gave him a hug and a kiss. Even if this will last all of few seconds for us, Brian will have to be alone for longer. It is a shame he can’t take any of us with him, but he is the only one who can do everything that is needed. And taking any of us would just cause more problems.

We watched as he chanted the Phantom Magic spell to remove the problematic sensations time travel causes, before he chanted the Time Magic spell to return to the past.

… Then we waited. But not for long.

It was only seven seconds later when the space in front of us rippled with magic. It shifted and Brian once again stood in front of us.

He looked a bit different from how he did just a few seconds ago. His hair was longer than it was, reaching about halfway down his back, but that is likely leftovers from him playing the part of a female demon. But even outside of that, his eyes were a little sharper and his body was somehow even more defined than it was. He looked … more powerful.

And his aura. He radiated an aura of confidence and power, one much stronger than just a bit ago. Almost like he was using Overpowering Aura, but I know he wasn’t. I felt that if he was, he could crush any of us, except Janina, with his aura.

“... Hi. I’m back.” He said gently, before taking a few steps forwards. He seemingly wanted to hug us, but held back a bit.

I realized why. He had grown stronger in the past. He didn’t want to risk any of our safety, as he didn’t know how his strength compared to our durability. I was tempted to rush forward and hug him, but if he harmed me, he wouldn’t forgive himself.

So I nudged Janina forward with Telekinesis. Her scale copy isn’t even as durable as we are nowadays, but that is just the thing. It’s a copy. If Brian damages her, Janina can just make a new one. The damage will also alert the real body, making Janina realize that Brian needs her, and she’ll fly over. And even with the power Brian seemingly has now, he shouldn’t be able to crush the real Janina.

As she stepped forward, Brian took Janina into his embrace with extreme care. She suffered no damage and Brian seemed happy that he could control his strength.

“I’ve missed you.” He said, as he kept hugging her. He then let go of her, hugging each of us one by one.

When it came to my turn, I asked him the question I really wanted an answer to.

“Just how long were you in the past? Did something go wrong?” I asked.

“Oh boy.” He said. “Nothing went wrong, but at the same time... I mean, we are all still here, the timeline is safe, so in that way, everything is perfect. There just was a ton we had no clue about. And I had to basically fix all of the plot holes.”

“... such as?” I asked.

“Such as the massive fricking mistake of the States and why I can’t even stop them from making it.” Brian said. “I think it is Memory Palace time. It will explain everything better and I need years worth of cuddles. I’ll also need to make sure my memories and what happened stayed in line.”
