CH.724 More Spies and Wilma Care
Alright. Now that my detoxing with Pack Opener is over, back to dealing with spies from the States. And that began with actually removing Power Structure from U-90 and turning him over to Narra Kingdom.
I think we’ve learned what we can from him, and we have two more spies to capture, so I don’t need him any longer. And honestly I just don’t want to look at his face any longer.
So I MST removed the Power Structure from him and sent him on his way. And no, removing the title didn’t remove any of his skills. But he was never given any either.
But it could also mean that skills can only be removed while someone higher in the structure possesses their underling.
Now, before I go and capture 7-E-77 and 7-E-78, let’s talk about 7-E-411 and 7-E-412. The Kingdoms wanted them executed for being spies, but after looking at their memories, they are just people who believed they were helping their country. Sure they knew they were spying on other countries, but that is what sometimes needs to be done. And it isn’t like the two of them have killed anyone or anything like that, so I didn’t want them executed.
Instead I got them turned into slaves. Not the greatest life, but still life. I then sold them to the Empire, just to keep them away from the States. I mean, they are officially dead in the eyes of the States, so …
Now to E-77 and 78. Capturing them wasn’t difficult at all. Sure they were much higher level than 411 and 412, but level 46 compared to 22 is nothing. Finding them took a bit, but with Soul-Skill Search boosted to a massive extent, the maps we have allowed me to estimate the path they’d likely take, and the fact that I knew the exact title to search for, it only took me about 30 minutes to locate and capture them. I then transported them to HomeBase and sealed them in the Soul Magic sealed cell so they couldn’t be remotely killed. Or be communicated with. Or have their skills reclaimed.
I did the same memory scan to them as I did the others, and for the first time, I got some actually terrible people. The two weren’t connected before Power Structure, but both were criminals.
77 was a thief, and not just because they were born poor. They actually got a pretty big pay quite early in their thieving career and could have used that money to start an actual business. Or purchase land and start farming. Or any number of things. But they liked stealing, so …
And 78 was a stalker. And a … person who does unkind things to others. The sexual kinds. He also had a few murders under his belt.
Yeah. Didn’t feel bad at all when these two were also given the death sentence. But a few experiments before I let those be carried out.
With the two of them, I learned a bit more about the selection process when it comes to Power Structure. The two of them, while in jail for their crimes, had been visited by Power Structure 7.
Seven made them an offer which would get them out of prison and would let them steal and … do the thing 78 liked. As long as they agree to be a part of the 7-E group.
The two were then tested, and after satisfactory results, 7-E took them under their part of the power structure.
Also, unlike 411 and 412, 77 and 78 had to undergo some amount of training before they were sent out on missions. Well, technically just one before the one I interrupted. And oh boy, the mission.
They were a part of the attack on Smorog. 77 was a part of the team that infiltrated the inner vault and stole a bunch of stuff from there, while 78 was in one of the smaller towns, and used the chaos to rape and kill people. … oh. Now I said the word I was trying to avoid earlier. Well done, me.
Sadly, despite seeing the infiltration, the release of the demon spirit things, and some other fun stuff, I didn’t learn too many new things. I did confirm that the demon spirits can give their blessing, which is how they got past that spirit waterfall. But I didn’t learn how they made them. But considering that they have a matter manipulating false elf, I have some clues.
I also couldn’t trace the void uranium core, as 77 wasn’t the one who picked it up. Based on 77’s thoughts at the time, it was 7-E-1 who took it. I also saw again the teleportation devices the States use.
Yes, I’d seen one before. Back when Hugo used one to escape Smorog after the weapons competition. The 7-Es used the same kind of devices, which teleported to a room in the States capital. I was quickly able to identify the room on my map, as I had spotted it. I just didn’t pay any attention to an empty room.
I could theoretically trap the room now that I know what it is used for, but at the same time, I feel like that might be shooting a retreating enemy in the back. Instead, I’ll just make sure that I can teleport to the room so that I can chase anyone who attempts to escape by teleporting there.
Speaking of, 77 and 78 both had a teleportation bomb on them. So I got samples and I can recreate them.
They are actually quite advanced. Using a B-rank magic stone for a core, they have a highly detailed magic circle carved on the inside, which activates when it is disturbed. It does two things. One is releasing a harmful gas, and the other is teleportation.
When I saw Hugo using it, I assumed the gas was deadly, but it isn’t. Just irritating. Makes sense as the gas does surround the person teleporting away and the device doesn’t protect them, except by teleporting them away.
Now what I wanted to find out is how do they make consumable devices that need B-rank magic stones. Those things aren’t cheap. … oh right. Matter manipulation. That elf bastard can probably just make more. Wonder what he needs as a raw resource? Just F-rank cores? Or can he turn regular stones into magic stones? Turn lead into gold? How OP is his skill?
Naturally after capturing 77 and 78, I went on another spy mission. The report about them disappearing hadn’t yet made its way to the top 5 though, so I might need to visit again another day.
Back on HomeBase, I headed over to Wilma’s part of the Workshop, where she was working hard on the finishing touches on the Hero’s sword. It was almost ready to go, unlike me.
But at the same time, Wilma had been working on it for the whole day. So I gently told her to stop, telling her that there was no rush. With minimal resistance, Wilma finished the part of the enchantment she was writing and stored the sword.
I then grabbed her into my arms, and while carrying her towards our spa, I asked Unika to warm the sauna for us. Wilma needed a reward for her hard work, and I was going to give it to her.
Some might call it favoritism, but Wilma rarely asks for pampering. So sometimes she needs to be reminded that self care is important. … is it still self care if someone else is taking care of you? Well, whatever.
And besides, any of my girls will get the same treatment if they ask. Or if I notice that they need it. Alice is especially good with the asking part, while Cailie is the one who most often looks like she needs it. Though that is because her job on HomeBase is ‘playing in the dirt’. She is also the easiest to clean as dirt just flows off of her half-spirit body when exposed to just a bit of water.
Which does raise the question, why doesn’t she just take a dip in the irrigation canals of the CropFields after her work? The answer is, she likes being cared for. And I don’t blame her.
Despite it only taking a few minutes for me to carry Wilma to our spa room, Unika had our sauna hot and ready. With her magic, it is no problem heating up a room. Honestly, I’m a bit worried Unika will burn down the building with her rapid heating. But at the same time, I trust her to put out any fires she starts. Just … I can’t put all of HomeBase into Storage and have Storage repair it. And no, not because of the size. The cores prevent it. The Chaos God Core and the Citadel Core and then all of the additional cores I’ve later added.
But that is just a limit of Storage.
With the sauna warm, the three of us headed in. After I helped Wilma out of her clothes. Though again, Storage.
After heating ourselves up in a room heated by a miniature sun as our stove, we began washing ourselves.
… what? Do you need to ask why Unika uses a sun to heat us up? Healing of the Sun is a great skill when you want to relax, and since it works on others, Unika uses it to warm us up.
Unika and I took quick care of Wilma’s body, before moving onto her hair and beard. I’m usually the one handling her beard, as I’m the only one who has a beard so I know how to do it. But today Unika took over that part. She has fur, which isn’t the same, but she knows how annoying it is when someone pulls it. We took our time carefully washing Wilma’s hair and beard, before applying conditioner to both, letting it sit, and then rinsing it off.
The two of us then quickly washed each other, while Wilma moved back into the sauna for a second, shorted round of sunbathing. We joined her soon after.
After we had washed each other, we moved to a neighbouring room to take care of the rest. We began by drying and styling Wilma’s hair and beard.
Then we moved onto her body. A massage between the two of us was no problem. Fire Magic is the magic that is the best when caring for muscles, and Unika is great with it. And I can use it with Foxflame and Spirit Magic. Between the two, it really relaxes your body.
After we were done with that, Alice joined us. I had called her when I realized Wilma needed a break from her enchanting work, but she had been in the middle of magic tests, so it took her a bit longer to join us.
What did I need her for? Well, that is caring for Wilma’s magic circuits. They are difficult to care for, but both Dark and Light Magic can interact with them, and ‘heal’ their strain.
And since Lua was away visiting her home town this evening, I called Alice instead. Besides, with Phantom Magic, I can use Dark Magic. So learning how to do that care from Alice was just fine.
Yes, I’m also learning how to use Lightwave Magic to heal. I’m the jack of all trades, right? Sure I might only be the master of Pack Opener, but that is better than master of none.
This part of Wilma’s treatment took much longer than the first part. Not only did I need to learn the necessary spell, which wasn’t hard, I also had to be much more careful while doing this.
Wilma’s Defense is about 90% of my Strength, but her Magic stat, which we are essentially interacting with, is only about a third of what mine is. So if I was too aggressive, I could easily damage her mana circuits or even her nervous system.
It was honestly a great test of my relatively new Phantom Magic, and Wilma seemed to enjoy the treatment. I suppose a treatment to her mana circuits, which she would have needed to use in her enchanting work, would feel good.
By the time we finished, Wilma was basically asleep. She almost fell asleep while Unika and I were massaging her, and the continued treatment didn’t help.
I asked her if she wanted to eat before sleeping, but she was too tired to even answer, so I decided it was time for her to head to bed. I carried her there while Alice used more Dark Magic to make sure she’d have a restful night of sleep.
