He didn’t know that his brother-in-law was secretly trying hard to make him into something akin to a live-in son-in-law. It was simply because he enthusiastically stopped Shuzhen from taking a rash step, blocking her path, and persuading her a few times that he ended up with a lovely wife or something. Lianshan was so delighted that he could hardly see his eyes from smiling, and on the hundred-meter walk from the guesthouse to the hospital, he pinched his own arm several times.

It wasn’t that he had some kind of masochistic hobby. It was just that he happened to get a lovely wife out of the blue, like a pie falling from the sky. The surprise was so great that Lianshan was filled with joy, yet apprehensive. He had to feel the clear pain in his arm to confirm that everything that happened before was real, not just a daydream. Shuzhen really liked him and wanted to be his wife!
"Brother, why are you so happy, did you find gold?" Lian Hai looked puzzled. He couldn’t figure out why his older brother was smiling so broadly so early in the morning without showing up. Look, his mouth was so wide open you could see his molars. If he remembered correctly, the last time his brother was this happy was when their little sister Lian Yue successfully gave birth to a six-and-a-half-pound nephew?

The little person in Lianshan’s heart was dancing with joy, shouting loudly. However, on the surface, he just coughed lightly and restrained his overly bright smile. Once he confirmed that his nephew was doing well and only needed a couple more days of IV observation before discharge, and could have his sutures removed at the town health clinic in seven days or so, with the plate removed a year or two later, Lianshan felt relieved enough to pat the little guy on the head, easing his worried heart.
Finally, he couldn’t stand seeing his foolish little brother jumping around anxiously, scratching his head. Pretending to be calm, he said, "It’s nothing big. I just fell for Shuzhen, and she doesn’t mind me being poor. We’ve decided to be together, to get married and live together!"
"What? You and Shuzhen?" Lian Hai’s already big eyes widened in disbelief as he looked at his elder brother. Wasn’t she his benefactor and creditor just yesterday, and now she’s the future sister-in-law? Was it that his brother’s speed was like the new Chinese Socialist development, or was it because of his sleeping position last night that got him possessed?
