Mother’s Desperate Measure
"Qingzhu, Qingshan, carry your junior brother into my room."
Upon hearing this, the eldest senior brother immediately stepped forward and, together with the second senior brother, carefully lifted my unconscious body.
At this moment, I was like a balloon floating in the air. A green "rope" connected my hand and my body’s ring, while two more ropes stretched from my body to Mother and Lingxi. Interestingly, another pink rope linked Mother and the two senior brothers. As I observed these ropes, my body was gently carried into Mother’s room. The room was clean and tidy evidently, the senior brothers often cleaned it.
"All of you, out!"
Daoist Qingxuan, though puzzled, could only sigh inwardly and follow Mother’s instructions, leaving the room.
"Qingshan, you stay. Qingzhu, don’t let anyone in." Mother’s face now bore a faint blush that was hard to notice. Lingxi also stepped forward and took Mother’s hand.
"Aunt Lin... let me... stay with him too."
Mother looked at Lingxi, who was already crying, her heart aching for her but even more distressed by my condition my body as black as charcoal, cracked skin oozing blood. The eldest senior brother and Daoist Qingxuan left the room, leaving only the four of us inside.
"Lingxi, close the door."
Mother’s voice was soft but firm, as if she had made some kind of decision. Then she gently raised her hand, and with a flick of her fingers, her bathrobe slowly slid to the floor.
