Mo Xuchou said solemnly, “Rest assured, Fellow Daoist Su. That yao god is alive and well.”
He slipped a jade bottle out of his sleeves. “His soul is sealed inside. Fellow Daoist Su, if you’re willing to set aside our prior enmities, I promise to return you the bottle immediately!”
Su Yi said calmly, “I’m here to punish you for your crimes, not to negotiate.”
The sect higher-ups’ hearts shook, and their expressions shifted.
Mo Xuchou sighed. “We know that what happened at the Sunset Perch Dao Assembly provoked you, Fellow Daoist, but we’re willing to make amends! Please, go ahead and state your terms. Whatever it is, we’ll agree so long as it’s within our power to grant!”
The crowd fell silent. They weren’t at all pleased. Who could fail to realize that in the face of Su Yi’s condemnations, their leader had chosen to make concessions?
