Chapter 13: The Fool’s Warning
was engulfed in even more anger and hatred for the system in our world. Based on what Katherine revealed to me about her past, it seems that the law enforcement authorities did nothing at all. Perhaps Senator Julius Scaver quickly paid off the police to cover up his heinous deeds.
Katherine also added that she was present during the time when I took action to eliminate Julius's worthless son, Red Scaver. She had a plan to seek revenge as well and find a way to ensure that Red wouldn't escape prison again. However, her ability alone wasn't sufficient to combat the evil forces at play.
Until she saw me at that moment when I entered the prison. She didn't know what happened, but when she saw me coming out a few minutes later, she noticed that chaos had erupted among the police inside the prison. That's when she also learned the shocking news that Red Scaver was dead.
In those moments, she knew that I had done something unusual, and that's when she began her investigation to uncover more information about me. And here she was, right in front of me, wanting to understand my ability and how I managed to assassinate Red Scaver, even with many police officers present inside the prison.
Due to the immediate trust and connection Katherine and I had, I explained my abilities to her, and she was deeply impressed. I could see the amazement in her eyes, completely devoid of jealousy. This further solidified her determination to assist me in my fight, willing to do anything to help me achieve our common goal: bringing down Julius Scaver.
However, there was one thing I explained to her. I asked for her help in finding a way to shift the blame away from the manipulated police officer who carried out the assassination of Red Scaver. I clarified that since there was no one else to accuse, the blame was placed squarely on their fellow officers. I admitted that it was also my fault for using him in this manner. Katherine chuckled lightly and remarked, "I thought you had everything planned," but she smiled and said that there was still some humanity left in my heart because I didn't want innocent people to be affected.
Katherine immediately agreed to help me, and she added that this would be her first mission with me. She assured me that she wouldn't allow herself to fail on her first mission. Our conversation took up most of the evening, so I suggested that we should call it a night for now. We needed some rest to think about our plan for our next move.
