Chapter 12: Justice
I asked Katherine if she had a place to stay because it wouldn't be suitable for her to come to my apartment. It would raise suspicions, and many people would notice, especially since she's a woman. Katherine also had a striking appearance. She had a gentle face, a wolf cut hairstyle, and a somewhat gothic fashion sense. Her figure was also quite attractive.
She noticed that I was looking at her from head to toe and smiled as if she had some mischievous thoughts. "Take it easy, don't stare at me too much," she teased.
"Don't flatter yourself," I replied, returning to my serious question. She stopped teasing and told me that she had a house nearby, not far from our location. She was the only person living there, so it was perfectly suitable for us to stay there and continue our conversation.
She led me to her place, and we walked towards her residence. After a few minutes, which felt like an hour of walking, we arrived in front of a massive house. The house looked luxurious and had three floors. Katherine looked at me, amused by my astonishment at her house. I asked her again to confirm if she really lived here, and she assured me that it was indeed her property.
She went to the gate and entered a passcode to open it, then invited me to come inside.
Upon entering her home, I was greeted by her spacious living room adorned with elegant furniture and tasteful decorations. I asked her how many people lived here, and I was even more surprised when she told me that she lived here alone in this grand residence.
After I made sure that the place was safe and that we could have a private conversation, I didn't hesitate to ask her right away why she had been looking for me and what her true intentions were in joining my cause.
Before she answered my question, she fetched a cold glass of water from her refrigerator and took a sip. It seemed like she needed to gather her thoughts before revealing her story. After a moment, she began to speak.
"The reason I'm the only one living in this house is that my entire family is gone," she began, a tear rolling down her gentle face. "One night, our house was invaded by unknown individuals. They were many, armed with guns. Despite having security guards, they were too fast and ruthless, and they managed to shoot our guards before breaking into our rooms one by one."
