Chapter 87: Reflection

My heart was pounding hard as I stumbled out of the restroom and I had to lean against the nearest wall before I collapse, my legs felt extremely wobbly and my stomach was queasy as a bunch of emotions rushed through me at the same time.
What the hell happened in there?
That question danced around the front of my mind, but that was a question that I didn’t have an answer to. I didn’t understand a single thing that transpired in there. My head thump against the wall and I squeezed my eyes tightly, trying not to think about anything, but the image of Jason materialized in my head and I felt myself flinch before I pushed off the wall and began to make my way back into the hall.
My eyes instantly darted around as I searched for Rory. I felt on edge and I wanted to leave this party for somewhere quiet as fast as possible. It was almost hard to breathe and even harder to not breathe walk right into somewhere. I felt extremely disoriented, I felt like I got dunked into a bucket of ice water when I least expected it.
After we got this particular invite from the wife of the celebrant, coming in contact with Jason was the last thing we both expected to happen tonight. What was even worst was that we didn’t see him in the hall. I went off up the restroom and there he was just as I was washing my hand.
Fucking Jason. Fucking bastard.
He didn’t have a scent. I know this because he stood so close to me when he gripped my shirt tightly and slammed me against a wall, but that didn’t change anything. All he did was growl and I literally melted against him. I didn’t know what to call that or make of that. That was something that had never happened to me in my entire life.
I might sometimes be into Alphas, but I could control myself around them at all times.
