"Welcome to my humble abode!" Kenny’s warm voice drawled as he held the glass door open for me. I tentatively stepped into the house and felt my breath caught in my throat at the sheer beauty of the interior of the house. It was exquisite and luxurious, and I instantly felt ridiculous in my cheap clothes and worn out shoes.
I instantly felt self conscious as he led the way into a beautifully decorated sitting room that oozed so much of his personality. It was a blend of warm sunshine in a room, and cool artworks were on the wall.
My mind returned to the fact that he was younger than I am but it already seemed like he had his entire life together, while it was the complete opposite for me.
I let out a slow exhale as I turned around to see him offering me a warm, sincere smile. I couldn’t help but smile back at him, heartbeat accelerating a little.
"Your house is so beautiful." I breathed out and he ducked his head in embarrassment.
"Ah, thank you. My mum assisted in decorating it." He said as he waved me over to one of the couches and I sank into the soft cushions.
"What would you like to drink?" He asked, heading to a nearby bar and I swallowed emptily as I acknowledged the fact that he was quite loaded than I expected.
"Water is fine." I told him and after a little while, he brought it to me and I tried to ignore the zing I felt when our hands touched.
