Chapter 43: Texting x Kenny

I was sitting by the window on the ground. The atmosphere was hot so the ground felt cold and comfortable to me right now. It was currently around seven in the evening and I was already done for the day since my shift today ended early.
A neighbor stopped by my apartment today to give me a box of cookies and I thought that was really nice. She was an old woman who looked like she was in her late sixties, but still very bubbly. I planned on returning the gesture in two days time by gifting her something as well.
I let out a small sigh as I glanced down at my phone. Kenny had asked me to text him tonight and I was wondering if I should really text him or not.
I was bored and had nothing else to do, which was what prompted me to shoot him a text.
Rory: How’s the adorable girl I saw you with this afternoon?
I glanced away from the phone after sending the text, and I decided within myself that I was gonna give him back his shirt tomorrow, so that we can go out separate ways. I already had a feeling we’d stop talking after I revealed my pregnancy to him tonight and even though the thought of that was making me feel a little sad, I knew it was something I needed to do.
My heart skipped a few beats on realizing he had responded.
Kenny: that little girl’s name is Anna and she’s about to fall asleep. I’m currently reading to her ;)
My heart skipped another beat as I read the text.
He reads to kids as well.
