Amazed to witness within this short period, how much Zenith had righteously matured into a wise man after Kylian had walked into his life, Barnes stared at him briefly with a diligent smile.
Indeed everything that he said was true, as even after a large gap of all these years, not for once Barnes could ever stop prioritizing anyone else in his life over Aiden. Still regarding the bond they had shared, even if all those memories only existed from his side now, Barnes never once stopped treasuring them from the core of his heart.
Without even stating a word, Barnes’s actions were evident to prove how precious Aiden has been to him always, to the extent that even Zenith could easily see through his pure heart, which made him empathize with him.
But Barnes didn’t directly answer his question, instead, with a soft grin on his face he rather teased Zenith, "You truly love Kylian a lot, isn’t it so, Young master?"
"So much...that this new life of mine without him feels impossible to live." Zenith retained a soft shy smile while professing his feelings, which were very radiant, just like the warm sun rays glistening on his handsome face when he continued.
"I want to be the air he breaths...I wish to make him smile for the rest of my life... I know he had to face many turbulences while growing up, but now, I always...want to make my Kyle the happiest he has ever been. To achieve that, I am prepared to do anything and everything for him, without holding any restraints. I want him to be my family, and share a future while he holds the anchor of my life.
"So...if these feelings aren’t relevant to what it’s called love...I don’t understand what else can be, Mr. Barnes."
"I am glad for you, young master." Like a proud guardian, his sincere confession made Barnes toss a wide smile on his lips when he exhaled a puff of smoke while staring distantly at the sky.
