Chapter 165: Shattered Innocent Heart

"Zenith?"
A meek, familiar feminine voice from behind winced little Zenith, making him reluctantly turn around with his tear soaked face. His dark onyx eyes narrowed when he saw Vanessa, dolled up in a pretty black gown which seemed a bit more lavish compared to an appropriate outfit for a funeral meeting inside the mountain shrine.
Approaching closer, amidst countless VIPs keenly gazing at them, she knelt in front of Zenith and tried to wipe his eyes with her silk handkerchief, with a small somber smile.
"I know the pain you’re going through, Zenith. But if you keep crying like this, your Mommy won’t be able to rest at peace. Perhaps if she hadn’t done drugs, you would’ve still been able to be with her for a long time. But even if she’s gone, now, I am here with you. Zenith, you’re alone—"
"NO!!" But before she could finish consoling him, Zenith smacked away her handkerchief and growled with a painful wail, "Stop lying about my Mommy! She never liked taking medicines...she can’t do drugs... I refuse to believe this! All of you are lying about her! All of you—"
"You better stop throwing your silly tantrums in front of the public, Zenith."
But before his broken rumble could finish, a cold menacing voice right behind Vanessa flinched everyone, including Zenith whose entire body shuddered from dread. He knew this voice very well, no one other than his father Dolemort whom he didn’t see shed a single tear for his poor mother throughout her funeral.
Wearing a long black oversize coat, elegantly groomed Dolemort calmly stood up to Vanessa who slowly stood up from the ground after he arrived.
With his piercing ash-brown eyes glaring at the handkerchief Zenith tossed away, Dolemort marched a little closer to his son and held up his overwhelming appearance to scare him even more as he uttered.
"I didn’t bring you here to deal with your tantrums, Zenith. You’re the son of a public figure, so you better behave when I have already gone through the trouble to bring you here."
