Chapter 156: I will protect you from them
Though the rattlesnake was huge in size, it was minding its own business by crossing the mountain trail path to reach deeper inside the thick forest surrounding them. However, unfortunately, it was the only path available for trekkers to carry their journey uphill, so it was quite natural to have these kinds of surprises all along the way as they moved ahead.
However, Kylian didn’t expect Zenith to have a phobia of snakes, and even though he initially snorted to watch the way he leaped behind him. But sooner when he felt his shivering big hands clenching onto his shirt quite tightly from behind, Kylian realized Zenith must’ve been badly scared to tremble like a newborn fawn.
Hearing him pout and whine, Kylian calmly moved ahead and grabbed the snake with his arm without a flinch, before tossing it away far from them deeper in the forest. The way he threw it away without showing any slightest discomfort made it seem as if Kylian just tossed out a piece of rope, leaving Zenith amazed at the sight.
"I am sorry, I didn’t mean to make you feel bad by laughing. It’s fine...we all have something we are afraid of, and it’s a natural response. See, I have thrown it away, so don’t be afraid anymore, Zenith.
"As we go up ahead, I promise, I will keep a keen watch on our trail path so that you won’t be scared like this again. And if we encounter any other snakes, just leave it to me...I will just tackle them for you."
Kylian’s soft comforting words with his endearing smile under glistening sunrays left Zenith fazed by his charm, as he could feel his heartbeat pounding faster. The way Kylian calmly tackled his fear, was the very first time someone had bravely stood up for his protection like this after he had lost his Mom.
Until now, he had mustered the determination to live a life of solitude where there would be no one he could count upon.
But Kylian was the only one who proved him wrong.
For the first time, under the warm sun rays glistening on him, Kylian appeared majestically beautiful like a prince in his eyes, who made his heart feel the assurance that Zenith wasn’t all alone anymore, neither he would have to force himself to bear all of his fears and insecurities by himself.
Zenith tenderly smiled at himself after the realization, with a blushing hue that spread across his porcelain cheeks. For a moment, it was hard to process that he was protected by an omega, the class whom he had despised for his whole life...but now...he couldn’t bear to live his life alone anymore, now that he had found his darling omega.
"Why are you laughing now?" Watching him let out a flustered chuckle made Kylian a little confused as he couldn’t help but ask him, "Are you that happy that I have thrown the snake away?"
