Chapter 126: I Hate That...
This time, the firmness in Kylian’s voice winced Zenith a little, as he could evidently sense that Kylian was determined to hear the truth out of him.
However, as he had already given his word to Marita, knowing that the truth would only lead to a severe blow to Kylian’s innocent heart, making him unable to stay sane anymore, out of guilt and remorse for being the reason for his beloved mother’s misery, he was bound to hide the truth from him.
Thus, curling his hand into a fist over the door, Zenith clenched his jaws before he answered in a husky voice, "Kylian...I am sorry I couldn’t reply to your text. I will apologize as many times as you want—"
"You know it well too that this isn’t the question I have asked you, Zenith." Overwhelmed with immense anxiety Kylian could feel his throat getting choked from nervousness. Despite feeling that, he squeezed those words out of his mouth while urging, "I have only asked you a simple question...where have you been all this time after disappearing all of a sudden?"
A brief anticipating silence fell between them, as Zenith was compelled to stay numb, with countless perturbed emotions rising inside his heart.
He slowly parted a step away from the door, and as if exactly catching onto his action, Kylian couldn’t suppress his vent from the other side, "Were you off to meet your beloved fuck buddies? Were there many people who have entertained you? Are you feeling shy to admit it before me now?"
"What?" Startled by his grunt, Zenith was baffled to learn Kylian was already aware of his past dark side of life which he had deliberately wanted to keep away from him, after making a fresh start to lead a wise life.
Zenith felt a bit irked inside while grumbling back at him, "Who told you about that pointless stuff?"
"Pointless stuff? Haha..." A disdainful chuckle escaped from Kylian while moving close to the door, he banged over it hard with his clenched fist, before howling aloud like a wounded beast.
