Chapter 100: Very sharp observation!
After the class ended, Kylian accompanied Stephan as they headed out together without disrupting Zenith’s peaceful nap. While walking outside the door, Kylian kept sneaking glances at Zenith behind, as he somehow felt awkward leaving him asleep alone.
But strangely he saw all the students around that desk were also cautiously leaving their seats, making sure they wouldn’t mistakenly wake him up. Their actions made Kylian unconsciously smirk when he realized the domineering fear Zenith had harbored in all the students’ minds about him.
While he was leaving with Stephan, Aiden saw them with a cold cryptic glance walking out of the door, especially his eyes were fixated on Kylian.
On the other hand, watching Kylian a little uneasy as he kept glancing behind at Zenith while they left the classroom, grimacing coldly, Stephan urged him, "Kyle, be honest with me, is there something going on between you and Zenith?"
"Huh?" His curt question finally jolted Kylian back to reality as he met Stephan’s skeptical gaze. His expression tensed up a little when he mumbled, "No...why do you ask?"
"I just...don’t find Zenith’s acting like his usual self nowadays." Stephan scratched the back of his head, sounding quite perplexed by his tone, "He would have never shared his seat with anyone before, no matter what happens. And secondly, the way he took my stand before his bully gang instead of resorting to violence as he did usually before, made me think that it’s not normal..."
"Stephan, has everyone in the Academy gone fuckin’ nuts?" Glowering with a discontent look in his ocean eyes, Kylian scoffed at him in a blunt pitch, "Whatever Zenith is doing now should be considered normal instead, unlike his abnormal self in the past! Maybe...he’s trying to change for the better...or maybe he is trying to be a better person for good—"
"Better? Haha!" But before he could finish his grunt, Stephan burst into a sharp peal of sarcastic laughter, which flinched Kylian a little. Bearing a mysterious look in his eyes, Stephan mumbled aloud, "Zenith’s the type of beast who can never change again once he has tasted blood. He’s nothing but a sadistic man who seeks disgusting pleasure by tormenting someone brutally.
"I don’t know about his best friend Aiden who seems like the only normal one compared to his other gang members, but almost every Alpha of his group has looked up to him on how to crush someone’s soul, be it destroying them physically or emotionally. And...that’s why, I am worried for you, Kylian."
Stephan’s face had lost its color as he bore a surly expression when he met Kylian’s curious eyes as he uttered the words, making it sound like some kind of warning. "Nothing good will ever come to you if you choose to put your belief on a cold-blooded person like him. Among all of his strange hobbies of picking up his targets, he has a knack for destroying the kinder souls...and I fear that’s what he might intend to do to you as well."
Kylian didn’t realize when they had already stopped walking while Stephan’s warning rang like an echo inside his ears. For a second, he felt a throbbing pain inside his chest, along with his stomach that churned with nausea.
