Chapter 74: Questioning
Dolemort sat relaxedly in the backseat of the car while Mr. Clark had taken the driver’s seat. Most of the time when Mr. Clark accompanied Dolemort to any important appointments, he would drive the car for him because there were usually some important confidential business discussions between them. Dolemort didn’t like letting any third person hear it, even if its his own driver, thus as his Chief Secretary and his beta, Mr. Clark had been always mindful of it.
Similarly, after walking out of the restaurant after meeting Elena and her father Mr. Smith, Dolemort possessed an overwhelming silence which started to make Mr. Clark feel a bit anxious.
Usually, Dolemort would initiate a few conversations with Mr. Clark right after any appointment was over, but even after he had driven for almost 30 minutes, Dolemort didn’t speak a word to him.
Through the front mirror, Mr. Clark observed tapping his fingers over his thighs, his expression looked quite solemn as if deep inside his head Dolemort was contemplating something. It was hard to predict what was particularly going on inside his head, especially after all that conversation with Elena.
"Clark?"
"Y-Yes sir!"
While he sneaked glances at him, Dolemort didn’t even avert his gaze away from the window before he suddenly summoned him in a stern voice. His tone indeed flinched Mr. Clark, but trying his best to put on a calm reaction, he smiled at him, "Do you have anything to command, Sir?"
"Did you meet with Zenith today?"
Like a striking jolt of thunder, Dolemort’s question rendered him speechless for a second, leaving Mr. Clark too nervous to breathe! He clenched his grip over the steering wheel while narrowing his orbs ahead.
