Chapter 449: Escape
"What is it?" She asked.
"I have arranged someone for you. He’s going to be your husband."
Thalia stared at her father as if he’d gone crazy. She was speechless, confused then back to being speechless because this was the first time her father was saying anything about marriage.
"What? You want me to get married?" She asked as if her ears were deceiving her. Her lips parted, wanting to say more but she couldn’t.
"That’s right. You have to get ready. Your future husband is coming to see you soon." Mr. Harrison said and he turned to leave, just like that.
Thalia was shocked, stunned even, while her head raced with a lot of questions like who her father wanted her to get married to all of a sudden. And why was she getting married out of all the things he wanted her to do?
She’d been in previous relationships before, but her father never approved of them because of their family background sincd he wanted a rich son-in-law. She’d completely given up on a relationship just for her father to say she was getting married? To a man she didn’t even know or see yet?
"Wait! What do you mean I’m getting married?" Thalia was still having a hard time getting past the word marriage. "To whom?"
"I said you’ll see the man once he comes here to see you," Mr. Harrison said through gritted teeth but it was obvious Thalia was still having a hard time digesting that.
"I’m not getting married to anyone," she said. She doesn’t know what her father’s plans may be but whatever it was, they certainly won’t be good ones. "You just came in here and just told me to get married and I won’t be doing that until you explain to me whatever you’re planning."
Mr. Harrison narrowed his gaze on his daughter as if she’d gone insane.
"I’m not going to say too much. But if you refuse to listen to me..." He drawled, waiting for her to guess the remaining thing which she didn’t like at all.
