Chapter 368: More Information
Anastasia was tempted to leave and prepare for her next meeting with Xander, but she stayed.
The night was still too young and who knew what other important information she would be able to unravel.
After the appreciation speech of Mr. Justin and his wife, the guests went back to drinking and conversing like they were doing before it all started.
Although she wasn’t looking at them, Anastasia could feel Xander’s gaze on her, probably wondering how useful she was going to be to him.
"She’s Julian’s friend, and looks capable," Samantha said, her gaze also on Jennifer’s back as the latter was walking towards a particular someone. It was Mr. Justin.
"I’ve always wanted connections to the royal family," Xander said with a sly grin, leaning back in his chair. "Having them on my side will make it even more impossible for Xavier to defeat me." He chuckled, his eyes closing as he pictured his twin brother aiming a gun at him, only to be met with hundreds of royal soldiers, unwavering and ready to defend him to their last breath.
"Still, how come Julian had such a friend but never introduced us to her? Isn’t that weird?" Samantha asked, her eyes narrowed in suspicion as she watched Jennifer casually conversing with Mr. Justin.
"It’s not a big deal," Michelle interjected. "She’s here and she’s going to help expand Xander’s business." Then she tried to rub Xander on the hair like he was a child, but a glare from the latter forced her to hang her hand midair.
"There’s something odd about her," Samantha mumbled under her breath.
Anastasia was deep in conversation with Mr. Justin, a man whose massive frame resembled a yellow school bus. His spectacles perched precariously on the bridge of his nose, giving him the look of a strict professor watching over students during an exam.
He had a strong aura around him which was a complete opposite to the creepy and nasty smile he was giving Anastasia that made her skin crawl.
