Chapter 227: Someone Must Go To Jail
"We are not partnering with the Nexera Enterprise," Anastasia declared, slamming the document in her hands on the table hard enough for everyone to hear.
It was their monthly meeting when ideas regarding companies that would be a good resource for Xastia would be decided. Logan and the others suggested Nexera Enterprise.
"Nexera enterprise has been doing well for several decades. They’re one of the best companies to partner with," Logan tried to convince Anastasia with a clenched fist.
"Perhaps you’ve forgotten, the owner of Nexera Enterprise has been arrested several times for involvement in illegal activities. He’ll tarnish the company’s reputation," Anastasia reasoned, her voice firm yet controlled. However, her shareholders responded with dismissive glances, their expressions betraying a collective disinterest. It was as if her words were nothing more than background noise, and the weight of her concerns fell flat against the room’s indifference.
"You know what, if Jack or Robert had been the one sitting on that seat..." He pointed at Anastasia’s chair. "I’m sure they would’ve agreed with my idea," he finished.
"Maybe you should go and meet them wherever they are and tell them what you think," Anastasia retorted without holding back.
Since the past few months she’d been the CEO of Xastia company, Logan has always given her a hard time, especially after she bought Rudy’s shares and kicked her out of her company.
She couldn’t blame him for his outburst at that time since he would probably miss his partner, whom he would gang up against her with.
Either way, he was starting to cross his lines each time they held a meeting.
Logan was immediately fumed by Anastasia’s reply.
Anastasia was merely in her mid-twenties, and Logan was already middle-aged, so he felt she was being extremely disrespectful to him at that moment.
