"Will you look at that? The award show is starting." Turning to Michelle, she picked a strand of the latter’s locks—making her stiffen and tugged it behind her ears. "Go take your seat, and let the show begin," she added in a low tone.
Michelle glared at Anastasia’s back before she walked towards her seat, while Anastasia sat with Martha and Liam.
The award show started with the Emcees announcing the categories as usual. When a winner was announced, they would come to the stage to get their award and make some speeches, thanking their fans for support and so on.
With the corners of her eyes, Anastasia could sight Michelle making eye contact with Theodore Perez, a huge sponsor of the award show.
Although they tried to be discreet with it, they couldn’t succeed since Anastasia’s eyes were on Michelle the entire time, monitoring her moves while a smirk played on her lips, waiting for her category to be called.
"And finally, we have the best actress award," the emcee announced. "We have three actresses nominated for this special award. One of them is a well-known actress who fell from grace to grass, but let’s not call names now."
The audience released a soft chuckle, and Michelle’s face turned red in embarrassment.
She exchanged eye contact with Theodore Perez, and he gave her a reassuring smile while winking at her, and Michelle’s heart fell at ease.
’I’m still going to win!’ She thought to herself.
"The next one was a newbie actress who won last year. And this year, she still managed to get nominated despite not being active in the entertainment industry often. And the last, our favorite, once-in-a-lifetime best emcee who stood on this stage last year."
The audience cheered, awaiting the result now.
