Chapter 210: Stay With Me
"Lily!!" Allison called as soon as she got inside her house. The lights were still switched on which only means that they were around. However, no one was in the living room. "Lily!!" Allison called again, this time heading towards the bedroom.
Inside the bedroom, Allison found her mother lying on the bed, pale as white with Lily sitting beside her on the bed.
A familiar woman wearing casual clothing with a stethoscope in her hands was checking her mother.
"I called Mrs. Astor when Mother fainted," Lily explained, her eyes darting between Allison and Kace who was behind her.
Mrs. Astor was a neighbor of theirs who was a doctor.
Allison nodded in understanding, waiting for Mrs Astor to finish checking on their mother.
A few minutes later,
"Allison, your mother is alright. However suddenly she just collapsed," Mrs Astor said when she was done checking up on the middle-aged woman who was unconscious. "But you don’t need to worry. It’s nothing serious. Just keep her away from something that will stress her out, and continue giving her her daily medication."
Allison nodded once more, tears threatening to fall from her eyes.
She appreciated Mrs. Astor for checking up on their mother despite her busy schedule as a doctor. Then, she escorted her out of the house.
"Tell me what happened. What triggered mother to collapse all of a sudden? She has not fainted since after her surgery," Allison asked Lily who was in the kitchen, grabbing a glass of water for Kace.
