Chapter 189: I Just Want To Kill Them
Michelle stiffened, feeling an electric current pass through her body while her heart sank into her stomach. She was too scared to move or blink as she stared at Anastasia, who was staring straight into her eyes while a small grin was on her lips.
"Were you surprised that I knew you tried to poison me?" Anastasia asked, but Michelle couldn’t bring herself to nod. "I’m not stupid, Michelle. But in this case, I will have to call you the stupid one. Look at this..."
Anastasia pointed at the glasses she’d left behind.
"There’s a teeny tiny camera on here, which you could figure out if you stared at the glasses a little too long. But no, you were busy poisoning my drink so that I would die," she finished.
Michelle had to fight through her anxiety just to swallow, her throat tightening as if even that simple act had become a challenge. Her eyes stayed glued to the glasses on the table, and it was confirmed—there was indeed a camera hidden within them. The realization made her pulse race, her thoughts spiraling as she tried to steady her nerves.
Before Anastasia had headed over to meet with Michelle, Kace had handed over one of his devices to her—so that it would record any act Michelle had planned for her.
"So this was the kind of reconciliation you wanted?" Anastasia asked, disappointment evident in her tone. "Well, I think it’s good you tried to poison me. I have more evidence to use against you people once I return home."
"You have nothing against us?!" Michelle stood up and barked out of control, earning the curious stares of the other customers. When she realized she was a little too loud, she took back her seat.
"Why do you say so?" Anastasia asked.
"Because if you did, you would have already destroyed us like you wanted, Anastasia. You don’t have anything on us," Michelle said through gritted teeth as she allowed her emotions to control her.
"In that case, I better return quickly and reunite with you people," Anastasia replied, her smile stretching on her lips.
