Chapter 180: How She Disappeared—Flashback
"Will you be leaving soon?" Selene asked, her slender finger subconsciously drawing a circle around Xavier’s muscles chest.
"Not at all. Why do you ask?" He spooned Selene closer to him, smothering her with kisses here and there.
"I wanted you to stay a bit longer, that’s all." She giggled when Xavier bit her earlobe. "But since you are not leaving soon, I have you all to myself now."
Xavier’s chest raised with a small chuckle.
"I will be going on my movie tour soon," she informed. "How’s the situation in Glamourwood? I saw the news today."
Selene could swear she felt Xavier stiffen for a second there, as his gaze darkened for the briefest second, but it disappeared just as soon as it came.
"More deaths have occurred, and some citizens are planning on leaving the city to relocate somewhere more safe. The police are useless, they can’t even do anything right," he responded, his tone sounding so bitter.
He regretted not being able to save those girls in time. The government had offered little help, merely closing down schools and enforcing a curfew. Once the curfew was in effect, no one was allowed to leave their homes for any reason.
"Are you visiting Glamourwood for your movie tour?" He asked.
Selene shook her head. "We’ve changed our location to Fameville and the others."
Xavier nodded in understanding.
