Chapter 157: He’s An Acquaintance
"Because you are her brother. Selene is Ava, your lost sister," he replied.
Kael thought Xavier might be playing tricks on him, so he tried to laugh it off. However, Xavier was never one for jokes and always got straight to the point. The solemn expressions on both his and Kace’s faces confirmed that they were serious.
"Selene isn’t Ava," he denied.
"We will only find that out when you do a DNA test," Kace replied in Xavier’s stead.
Kace explained everything to Kael, feeding the latter on how they’d found out Selene was his long-lost elder sister.
Kael couldn’t believe his ears when Kace was done narrating the story.
"Alright, I will do the blood test," he replied.
Kace escorted Kael to the doctor. Even though their relationship wasn’t that good, at least they weren’t glaring at each other.
Xavier stepped inside the hospital room where Selene was lying on the bed, unconscious. He could see some bruises on her face and hand. Although from the looks of it, they were mere scratches and would heal in no time.
Xavier couldn’t bring himself to explain how glad he felt that she was alive. Useless shadow guards couldn’t even protect her. He made a mental note to deal with them properly once he was out of there.
Xavier took a nearby seat, settling himself so that he could take a proper look at her. He held her long slender fingers in his large big ones, caressing it ever so softly.
