Chapter 135: Troublemakers
Kace couldn’t help but scoff.
"You’ve got to be kidding me. People are scared of that little weiner?" he asked, scoffing as he glanced at her. Noticing a single tear rolling down her cheek, he added, "Do you love Derek?"
Allison froze when she heard his question. She quickly wiped the tears that pooled in her eyes before she answered, "I do."
"Now?" He asked, propping himself to sit on the bench properly. "Even though he beats you up? That’s some love," he mumbled under his breath, feeling a pang of jealousy he never expected himself to feel.
A sad smile tugged at Allison’s lips. She could see why Kace was curious about her feelings for Derek. It was clear that no man should ever raise his hand to a woman, and, like every woman in her situation, she harbored deep resentment toward him.
Her hatred for Derek was all-consuming. She despised him so intensely that she fantasized about taking her revenge the moment an opportunity presented itself. She longed to repay him for the assistance he had once offered her, but more than that, she wanted to disappear from his life entirely—never to be seen by him again until the day he finally met his end.
Her mother had been sick, severely sick and she needed to be operated on as soon as possible else she would die.
Her father had left them in debt after he gambled away all their money, succumbing to depression after losing his job.
Now, Allison has to take care of her mother’s surgery which was difficult since she had no money.
