Chapter 152: A Problem
The soft morning light streamed through the window, casting a gentle glow on the wall and part of the bed. As it shifted, her eyes fluttered open. Instinctively, she raised her hand to shield them from the brightness.
A small smile played on Naomi’s lips as she turned slightly, rolling onto her side. Then, like a warm wave, memories of last night came rushing back. The conversation she had with Zylan filled her with a renewed sense of relief—and excitement.
She rose quietly from the bed, but the moment she stood, a wave of dizziness swept over her. Her body swayed unsteadily, and she quickly sat back down, gripping the edge of the mattress for support. Her head spun—light and disoriented. Was it because she had stayed up so late last night?
Naomi gently placed a hand on her forehead, then moved slowly to the table and took a bottle of water. The cool liquid helped ease the lingering dizziness. She sat for a while. Once the spinning dulled, she slowly stood and made her way to the bathroom to freshen up. After a refreshing bath, she slipped into a simple, baggy shirt and a flowing maxi skirt, her hair gathered into a loose bun.
As she stepped out, she met Rhea in the hallway. She bowed respectfully.
"Mrs. Naomi, your food is ready."
Naomi gave a soft nod and began walking alongside her. "What’s the schedule for today?" she asked in a quiet voice.
Rhea responded promptly, "Mrs. Naomi, you’ll tend to the flowers this morning after breakfast—watering and pruning. Also, a new flower will be arriving today... it was sent by Mr. Zylan."
Naomi paused mid-step, turning toward Rhea in surprise. Rhea nodded.
"Did you just say my husband sent flowers?" Naomi asked, trying to confirm what she heard.
"Yes, ma’am. He said you’d be the one to care for it."
