The Comeback of the Charming Farmer's Wife

Chapter 1603 - 1605: Still Fostering Hatred

The Commandery Princess Dongyang also waved her hand dismissively, "Don’t bring it up, that guy is such an idiot. He has no idea how to interact with kids. He heard that Lele and Yangyang grew up listening to books, so he went back and stayed in the study with Chengcheng for more than an hour. Dumb as a rock, Chengcheng was nodding off to sleep in there, yet he kept on reading nonstop. As for today, he went out early in the morning without a word, who knows where he went."

Speaking of Mu Shaoling, the Commandery Princess Dongyang was at a loss for words.

Trying to imitate Ye Zi’an by reading to his son, he should at least keep an eye on the time. Who reads when it’s almost bedtime? It’s fine if he wants to read himself, but to make his son stay awake and listen to him read—what the heck, is he building a bond with his son or fostering resentment?

Hearing this, Ye Zi’an secretly felt pleased. It seemed that when it came to parenting, he wasn’t doing too bad and was worthy of being emulated. But Mu Shaoling was really dumb; if his son is tired, he should sleep, what’s wrong with reading at another time?

Yang Chuxia also sighed deeply, she never thought Mu Shaoling was this dense before.

In everyone’s mind, Mu Shaoling, who was deemed foolish, returned in the evening. Seeing Luo Linhao came, he was quite happy, and not having seen each other for several years, naturally, they exchanged a few pleasantries.

As for what he had been up to today, you could tell by the box at his feet.

Yangyang curiously looked at the box. It seemed there was something moving inside, making a squeaking sound. He seized a moment when Mu Shaoling wasn’t looking and opened it, only to see a litter of puppies.

"Wow, such cute puppies," Yangyang’s eyes sparkled like little stars immediately. "Uncle, good uncle, can you give me one?"

"Shoo, shoo, go away. These are for my son. If you want one, go ask your dad," Mu Shaoling snorted. These weren’t ordinary dogs; he heard they were a crossbreed between a wolf and a dog. He spent the whole day finding them specially to please his son, how could he let this little brat have one?

"Really?" Yangyang pouted, "Do you have to be so stingy? There are five of them here, I just want one, can’t I?"

"Hmmph," Mu Shaoling didn’t say a word, wearing a haughty expression.

Yet Chengcheng, snuggled in Dongyang’s arms, showed no interest at all, not even glancing at them.

Yang Chuxia chuckled, "So you spent an entire day for this?"

"Indeed, I went through a lot for my son’s sake," Ye Zi’an nodded.

Lele sighed, "It’s a pity Chengcheng doesn’t appreciate it."

"Sigh, I wanted it but you won’t give it to me. You gave it to Chengcheng, yet he doesn’t care. This world!" Yangyang shook his head in confusion, "Why do people have to be so conflicted? Sigh," he sighed like an adult after speaking.

"Mom, sleepy!" Meanwhile, Chengcheng was yawning again.

Dongyang quickly said, "I’ll take you back to sleep right now." Then she said goodbye to Yang Chuxia and the others, and left with Chengcheng. As for Mu Shaoling, she couldn’t be bothered with such an idiot.

Mu Shaoling saw the mother and son leaving just like that, without even asking him, and though feeling a bit down, he still followed.

Yangyang, seeing the litter of dogs left behind, quickly shouted, "Uncle, aren’t you taking your dogs?"

"They’re yours!" Mu Shaoling waved his hand at him without looking back.

Yangyang jumped up, "Oh yeah, I knew you didn’t want them, so I reminded you."

"Look at you being all clever," Yang Chuxia playfully poked his little head.
