Chapter 1170 - 1172: You Have Your Baby and I’ll Live on My Island_1
By the time he looked back, he saw the Commandery Princess Dongyang cradling a large grass nest in her arms, and even though it was already dark, Mu Shaoling could still see the large python following behind her.
Mu Shaoling felt like his heart was about to leap out of his chest. Wasn’t this scene freaking bizarre?
"Where did you run off to? What’s going on?" Mu Shaoling noticed at a glance that the python was following bit by bit, keeping a distance though. It seemed, however, that the python had no intention of attacking her.
"That big thing wanted to eat me, but then I found its lair and stole its babies. Now its babies are in the hands of the Commandery Princess, so we’re temporarily safe," she said with a sniff.
What should have been a terrifying scene, the perilous moments when they were nearly caught by the python, turned into something comical when she described it.
Mu Shaoling gazed speechlessly at what she was holding in her hands, "So what you’re holding is snake eggs?"
"Of course!" the Commandery Princess Dongyang happily set the nest of snake eggs down to one side and glared at the python not far away, "You’d better stay right there. As long as you don’t attack us, your offspring will be absolutely safe, otherwise, hmph!"
Having said that, she then said to Mu Shaoling, "There shouldn’t be any more vile creatures in the forest now. I can keep watch here; why don’t you go catch some wild chickens?"
Mu Shaoling covered his face. How bold was this girl? Facing a giant python, where had her previous fear gone? And she was still in the mood to think about eating?
"Go on then, aren’t you tired of eating seafood after so many days?" she urged again when she saw he didn’t move.
Mu Shaoling, speechless, gave her a glare, "Are you stupid? Where do you expect to find wild chickens in the middle of the night? Do you think I have the eyesight of a night hawk?"
"Oh," Dongyang got choked up, realizing she might have been a bit foolish. "Forget it, we’ll wait for tomorrow then."
The morning light at sea was particularly bright and glittering, shining on the island like the light of the Buddha, inspiring devotion and warmth.
However, when his gaze landed on the large python lying nearby, any ripples in Mu Shaoling’s heart turned to still water.
The Commandery Princess Dongyang was still asleep, so he stepped forward and pushed her, and seeing her bleary-eyed waking up, a trickle of drool at the corner of her mouth, Mu Shaoling tugged at the corner of his mouth. She slept like a log, not afraid of being molested by a man or eaten by a snake, sleeping so soundly.
"Why are you pushing me?" the Commandery Princess Dongyang rubbed her eyes and complained discontentedly, "I was dreaming of someone bringing me a big chicken leg. You pushed me, and now the chicken leg is gone."
Mu Shaoling rolled his eyes, "Get up; I’m going to look for food. Don’t go back to sleep when I leave. If that big thing eats you while you’re sound asleep, you’ll be dead for sure."
With that said, Dongyang suddenly became alert. Her drowsiness was gone.
"Alright, I got it," she said.
Seeing that she had fully awakened, Mu Shaoling went out.
When he came back, he was carrying two sparrows and a bunch of wild fruits stuffed in his pockets.
The sight of the two sparrows in his hands immediately brightened Dongyang’s eyes. She even made a swallowing motion.
Seeing this, Mu Shaoling couldn’t help but want to cover his face. He really wanted to say, "Miss, could you be a bit more dignified? Are two sparrows really worth this excitement?"
"Young Master Mu, Mu Shaoling, don’t just stand there; start preparing them quickly, quickly..." She was staring at the sparrows in his hands, eyes gleaming, with incessant urging. Mu Shaoling’s gaze flickered.
