The Comeback of the Charming Farmer's Wife

Chapter 442 - 443: Meeting an Acquaintance in the Garden

"Alright."

Ye Zi’an had been cooped up in the room all these days, so when he heard there was a wheelchair, he nodded in agreement.

"Fugui, come over and help Brother An."

Yang Chuxia called out to the young servant, Fugui, who had just finished eating.

"Yes, Miss."

With that, he came over. Yang Chuxia originally intended for Fugui to help her lift Ye Zi’an onto the wheelchair. But, knowing that Ye Zi’an couldn’t stand on his legs for the time being, Fugui bent down and lifted Ye Zi’an onto the wheelchair with a horizontal hug.

Yes, it was a hug—and a princess-style one at that. Instantly, Yang Chuxia burst into laughter, while the expression on Ye Zi’an’s face was indescribably awkward. Fugui, however, didn’t understand why she was laughing.

After putting Ye Zi’an down, Fugui scratched his head in confusion.

"Are you done laughing?" Ye Zi’an glanced at her helplessly.

"Not yet, let me laugh a little more." Yang Chuxia laughed heartily again and asked, "Brother An, did Fugui’s chest feel particularly warm and cozy?"

"Nonsense!" Ye Zi’an chided her softly, taking the initiative to push the wheelchair himself. Seeing this, Yang Chuxia hurriedly went behind him to help push. Meanwhile, Fugui, his face turning red from her words, hesitated awkwardly, unsure whether to stay or go.

"Shall we go to the garden?" Yang Chuxia suggested as they pushed Ye Zi’an outside. "I have to admit, Young Master Mu’s house is beautiful. They must be quite wealthy. I remember passing by their garden last time, and there were so many lovely flowers. I didn’t recognize most of them, though."

"Xiaxia, do you like flowers?" Ye Zi’an asked. "If so, we can create a garden at home as well."

"No, let’s not. People as crude as me are more suited to growing practical things like fava beans and potatoes. Delicate flowers would probably be dead within half a month in my care."

This wasn’t an exaggeration on her part—it was the truth. Someone in her old world had once gifted her a potted flower, a daffodil. Unfortunately, she was away on a mission when she received it, so she left the flower at home. By the time she returned, the daffodil was long dead.

"Xiaxia is not crude at all. How could someone with such clever ideas be crude?" Ye Zi’an countered when he heard her self-deprecating remarks. "Everyone just has their own strengths and weaknesses. Xiaxia is incredibly intelligent and capable."

"Haha, only you know how to flatter me like this." Yang Chuxia laughed as she pushed the wheelchair.

The flower garden at Mu Shaoling’s home was in the center and a little far from where they were staying, so it took them a while to get there. Fortunately, the path there was laid with flagstones, making it easy to push the wheelchair.

However, when they reached the garden, they discovered that someone was already there—a man dressed in white, looking like a celestial being. This was the first impression he gave Yang Chuxia.

Yang Chuxia didn’t recognize him and didn’t know who he was, so she wondered whether she should greet him or not. As she hesitated, he spoke first, his voice gentle with a touch of laughter, yet distanced.

"You must be Miss Yang?"

Upon hearing his voice, Yang Chuxia remembered. "Oh, it’s you! Thank you for your help the other day. Otherwise, Young Master Mu might not have given me the Drunken Heart Flower."

The man in white smiled. "You’re too kind, Miss. Even without me, Shaoling would have given you the flower. He has always been playful and just wanted to tease you."

Yang Chuxia’s mouth twitched slightly upon hearing this. Playful? How old is he? Still playful?!
