Players Invade Cyberpunk

This feeling of having one’s worldview challenged is quite uncomfortable.

Henry curiously asked,

"You said someone told you these things... Who was it?"

"It was Mr. Lin. He told me far more than this, and later the ZWs, they knew even more."

"Then, hypothetically... after you win this battle? Will you occupy and rule Cuba?"

"No."

David shook his head.

"We will not rule any place. Cuba belongs to the Cuban people, and we will continue to fight, fighting against all injustice in the world, fighting until the last moment of my life."

Whew...

Everyone’s thoughts were complicated; under the dazzling ideals and personalities of the others, they felt so base.

Dylan wanted to say something more, but then he saw a familiar and elegant figure wearing a white nurse uniform, carrying medical supplies to the hospital.

"Hey! Julia, what are you doing?"

The girl was one of the women who came with them but was too frightened to go to the front line.

"Dylan?"

Julia didn’t expect Dylan and the others to be there.

"I... just helping to deliver some stuff. They look really pitiful."

Julia explained the reason to the group.

After their departure, Julia and the others initially felt fear and even disgust toward the wounded, and were horrified by the blood, almost wanting to leave.

But soon the city was surrounded by Cuban troops, unable to leave, they had no choice but to return.

As time passed, they realized these wounded soldiers were actually very polite, not as rough as they imagined.

The hospital was short-staffed, and several medical staff who didn’t know them asked them to help deliver supplies, and they agreed half-heartedly.

Dylan praised, "You look stunning today."

"Stop flattering me! I borrowed this outfit; I don’t want my own clothes to get blood on them!"

"I’m not flattering you, you have a special allure now, particularly charming, I almost can’t resist pursuing you."

"Alright, stop with the sweet talk; I still have to deliver the supplies. Miss Gloria has been performing surgeries for over fifty hours straight, and hasn’t rested yet. I’ve never seen such a remarkable person.

I also heard she’s the CEO of ERO Corporation, and yet she’s personally performing surgeries on these wounded soldiers."

"What? Who did you say?"

David’s reaction was even bigger than Henry’s, standing up as soon as he heard that name.

Julia appeared somewhat flustered.

"I said... Miss Gloria?"

Dylan and the others were perplexed.

"Hey, buddy, what’s wrong with you?"

After the initial shock, David sat down again slowly.

"My mother is here."

He couldn’t go see Gloria.

"Who? Miss Gloria is your mother? That’s impossible."

The mention of that name carried a bit of esteem, making Julia doubt David’s words.

"What’s your name?"

"David Martinez."

"Oh my God..."

Julia looked at David incredulously.

"But I heard Miss Gloria is a big name at Horizon Corporation. How could you be her son, returning to the front line and getting injured?"

Those present wouldn’t underestimate Horizon Corporation.

Whew...

David stood up without answering this question.

After a moment of silence, he said to Henry and the others,

"Do you want to leave this place?"

Initially, Henry and his companions really wanted to escape this hellhole, but now facing David, they were embarrassed to act as deserters.

"We... still have to shoot the documentary; and we can’t leave now, can we?"

"Our reinforcements are coming."

David told them,

"This place will become very dangerous. When the time comes, I’ll apply for a vehicle from the higher-ups. If you want to shoot a documentary, there’s a place that’s quite suitable and much safer than the front line."

Henry’s eyes lit up.

"Where?"

"Prisoner of War camp."

David said,

"We’ve captured many prisoners, Cubans, Brits, French..."

Henry and the others were initially embarrassed, but then they realized this was indeed a good place, and they could leave this hellhole, their eyes brightened.

"That’s great!"
