Players Invade Cyberpunk

Chapter 568 181: A Win-Win-Win Situation_3

Just as the players were troubled about how to handle this batch of captives, the Red Killer walked over to Red Bucket, patted him on the shoulder, and signaled to find a secluded place to talk.

"Why are you looking for me?"

Red Bucket looked somewhat puzzled at this semi-newbie who entered the game in the version before the last.

The Red Killer said, "I think we can try recruiting them. Anyway, even if it doesn't work in the end, we won't lose anything."

Red Bucket: "What if they're not honest and try to mess with us?"

The Red Killer said in a calm tone:

"Build a prisoner camp, assign regular labor reform sessions, responsible for simple labor, pass two assessments. Those who pass the ideological assessment enter an observation period. If they pass the observation period, they're integrated as full employees and return to society."

Red Bucket: "But what if they keep making trouble and commit crimes when they come out? Are they going to stay in prison forever?"

"You guys handle it. There will always be ways to deal with them—at worst, let them work the sewing machines for a lifetime, or start over again."

The Red Killer emphasized the word [deal], causing Red Bucket to shiver slightly, feeling a bit chilly.

He's done his share of killing in the game; why does this guy seem so intimidating?

"Who's going to do it then?"

The Red Killer drew out his pistol from his waist, checked the bullets in the magazine, then loaded it back up.

"I'll give it a try first. It doesn't cost anything. If it's effective, we'll move on to the next step. It's better than letting them idle, restricting their movement to the interior of the construction site, increasing robot patrols. This way, we can cut down on manpower for supervision and ensure they can't easily escape from under our noses."

"Then..."

Red Bucket thought the same; worst case, they could always have these people do simple tasks, which would at least speed up progress somewhat.

"You go ahead and try, I'll go talk to Lucy about this."

Not long after Red Bucket left, the compilation of the prisoner personnel data was completed.

Due to worker changes, the project couldn't start for a while, and many players gathered around the captives for some entertainment

The Red Killer quickly rounded up a few newbies, set up a few platforms in the empty space, and brought over most of the captives, with only a few special captives indicated by the Killer to be taken elsewhere by two players.

The Chaotic Blade Association's captives felt inexplicably bewildered, not knowing what tricks these people were up to.

Before, it wasn't uncommon for the Chaotic Blade Association to lose shootouts, but the outcomes were generally a few options.

Either they dispersed and reformed into a group of wandering robbers.

Or they were all killed and collectively went to the underworld.

Or were absorbed into other wandering robber groups.

But the worst was the company; it generally didn't take prisoners. If it did, either for drug or cyber modification experiments, or subjected them to neuro-washing torture.

Many were shaking in their boots now, fearing they'd be tortured to death.

The Red Killer walked onto a hastily assembled platform, looking at the bustling crowd below, feeling a sense of relief

The best part of this game was not worrying about language barriers, whatever was said, people could understand, saving much trouble.

"Among you, who were formerly senior officers of the Chaotic Blade Association?"

The Chaotic Blade Association captives looked at each other, not knowing what this bespectacled man on the platform intended.

Yet some of them couldn't escape their companions' gazes and could only try to shrink quietly into an unnoticed corner of the crowd.

No one answered.

The Red Killer wasn't in a rush. Instead, he took out a phone he picked up at the Chaotic Blade Association's camp and waved it in front of everyone, saying leisurely

"It's alright if you don't say anything. We've already obtained all the data from your server room, which includes the personnel databases for this operation. Now asking you is giving you a chance, so I hope someone will seize it..."

When he finished speaking, his eyes inadvertently glanced at the pile of corpses in the distance outside the camp, ready to be sent for biomass recovery.

Other Chaotic Blade Association members watched players throw the bodies onto a truck one by one, swallowing nervously.

The appropriate pause left many imagining themselves being part of it, given that the company had no shortage of means for torture.

"Hey, what are you guys doing?"

A short figure was suddenly pushed out of the crowd, kicked to the front, and someone in the crowd called out his name.

"He's Logan Zorn from the Logistics Procurement Division."

"You bastard!"

Zorn turned around and glared at the crowd, trying to find the guy who kicked him, but everyone had an indifferent attitude.

In the past, who would dare to do this to him?

Even his underlings hesitated in the crowd, not daring to look at him.

But the expected scenario didn't occur. The bespectacled man jumped off the platform, helped him up politely, and said

"Come up with me, Mr. Zorn."

Enzo, originally anxious, felt suddenly relieved, thinking maybe this company wanted him to help recruit these guys; otherwise, they wouldn't be this polite.

Immediately, he glared viciously at those people, thinking that sooner or later, he'd identify the guy and return the favor.

The Red Killer supported Zorn onto the platform and pointed to the only chair there, saying

"Come, have a seat here."

He even used respectful language.

However, once Zorn sat in the chair, things took an odd turn.

The Red Killer made a gesture to the two players beside him, and they immediately understood, flashing white teeth, and picked up ropes to tie the guy in the chair securely.

Zorn and the Chaotic Blade Association below were dumbfounded.

Weren't they going to recruit us?

Why are you tying me up?

"Come on, Mr. Zorn, tell me what crimes you've committed against your fellows down there..."

In the small town, Panam leaned on the balcony, watching the commotion through binoculars, feeling puzzled

"What on earth are they doing? Why not just execute them all?"

"Every single member of the Chaotic Blade Association has blood on their hands, wasting time on them for what?"

As a fellow member of the Wandering Tribe, it's no surprise the Chaotic Blade Association had the worst reputation.

Scorpion, wearing a hat, sipped from a bottle of liquor, saying

"I feel like it's one of those Western stories my mom used to tell. Reading out the crimes before the execution, maybe that's it."

Taking down so many from the Chaotic Blade Association made those from Adcardo feel thrilled, just curious how the company intended to handle so many prisoners.
