Chapter 900 - 900 Inviting the Lord into the Urn
Hearing this, a few people nearby immediately turned their heads. One of them asked curiously, "The person you want to deal with? Who is it?"
"Yeah, Boss, you've been talking about dealing with a lot of people lately. Which one this time?" Another underling added, equally curious.
"******, you useless bastards!" Huang Boxiong cursed angrily. "How many times have I told you in the past few days? The people I want to beat up the most right now are those three from Shenchuan City: Ye Qing, Zhao Chengshuang, and Li Lianshan. ******, I want to rush to Shenchuan City and kill those sons of bitches!"
The group suddenly looked enlightened. One of the lackeys exclaimed eagerly, "Boss, just say the word, and we'll head to Shenchuan City right now to take down those bastards!"
"Shut up!" Huang Boxiong glanced at him and said, "Going to Shenchuan City to deal with those three isn't so simple. But, damn, I got lucky. That kid surnamed Ye even ran all the way to Dongzhou. Seems like the bastard came here to try pulling some strings for the orphanage business again. But it's useless, no matter how hard he tries. As long as I don't agree, there's no way that orphanage will reopen. And since he's here, I don't even need to go to Shenchuan City. Let's go! Time to collect some interest from that little punk first!"
Back in Shenchuan City, although Huang Boxiong had suffered at Ye Qing's hands, he always believed it was because Ye Qing had more people on his side, not because Ye Qing was particularly strong. Now, in Dongzhou, with his crew backing him, he was confident that dealing with Ye Qing would be no problem. That's why he recklessly went after him without hesitation.
As they were rushing downstairs, they saw Ye Qing getting into a taxi from a distance. They tried to stop him but were too late, leaving them no choice but to hastily jump into their car and give chase.
Ye Qing intentionally led them on a chase, weaving through the city streets in circles before heading toward the hotel.
Arriving outside the hotel, Ye Qing stayed in the cab for a moment to set an alarm on his phone before stepping out and heading straight for his room.
In the hotel lobby, the two men holding newspapers watched Ye Qing intently. Nervous and on edge, they had just swapped the original bomb for a remote-controlled device. As soon as Ye Qing entered his room, they planned to detonate it with the remote control, blowing him to smithereens and successfully completing their mission.
When Ye Qing was about ten meters from his room, he felt a faint vibration in his pocket. His mind raced. The device in his pocket was the detector given to him by the King of Explosives, capable of identifying any remote-controlled bombs. It had remained silent earlier when he returned, but now it was reacting. Could it be that a remote-controlled bomb had been planted in his room?
This discovery rattled Ye Qing slightly, but his face quickly regained its composure. Although the bomb had changed, it didn't significantly affect his plan.
Timing himself carefully, Ye Qing approached the door just as his phone alarm suddenly went off.
In the lobby, the two men tensed up, ready to see Ye Qing trigger the bomb so they could blow him to pieces. But at this critical moment, the sudden sound of Ye Qing's phone ringing almost made them lose their minds. Why was everything tonight so damn complicated?
Feigning a phone call, Ye Qing turned and walked away, but this time he didn't leave through the front door. Instead, he slipped out through the back.
Not long after Ye Qing left, the two men holding newspapers were about to call their captain when the front door of the hotel burst open. Seven or eight men stormed in aggressively, led by none other than Huang Boxiong.
The sight of the newcomers left the two men surprised. They had no idea who these people were and dared not act hastily. However, Huang Boxiong and his gang paid them no mind, immediately scanning the room for Ye Qing.
Despite thoroughly searching the lobby, they found no sign of Ye Qing, who had already slipped out through the back. Not one to be a fool, Huang Boxiong walked straight to the front desk to question the staff about Ye Qing's room number.
Huang Boxiong's intimidating reputation in Eastern Province City was well-known. Both the hotel owner and manager recognized him. Conveniently, the lobby manager was present, and upon seeing Huang Boxiong personally step up, he revealed Ye Qing's room details without hesitation. Moreover, they even called over a staff member to find out where Ye Qing had gone.
When the rear-door staff mentioned seeing Ye Qing leave through the back, Huang Boxiong's men started clamoring to chase after him. However, Huang Boxiong waved a hand dismissively and said, "Chase what? It's late at night; if he hopped into a cab, he'd be long gone. Where would we even chase him to? Better to stay here and wait. He's staying here, so he'll have to come back eventually. He can run, but he can't hide."
Overconfident and headstrong by nature, Huang Boxiong liked to make all decisions himself. Ignoring his crew's suggestions, he demanded the room key from the manager and marched directly into Ye Qing's room to wait for him.
The two men with newspapers froze in place. Ye Qing hadn't gone in yet, but Huang Boxiong and his men had barged in first. They silently breathed a sigh of relief, thankful they had switched the bomb. If not, the explosion would have gone off the moment Huang Boxiong entered, killing him and alerting Ye Qing, a disaster that would've ruined their entire plan.
Fortunately, with the remote control bomb now in place, they retained full control over the detonation. As long as Ye Qing didn't return, they wouldn't trigger it. So they continued waiting patiently in the lobby, prepared to finish off Ye Qing in one fell swoop.
In reality, Ye Qing hadn't gone far. After slipping out the back, he hid behind a flower bed in the backyard. The area was shrouded in darkness, offering him perfect cover to observe everything around him without being seen.
Crouching behind the flower bed, Ye Qing monitored the situation around his room. After about ten minutes, the lights in his room came on. A faint smile played on Ye Qing's lips. Huang Boxiong had taken the bait, clearly waiting inside for him to return.
Next, Ye Qing discreetly turned his gaze to the nearby buildings opposite the hotel, scrutinizing each window carefully. After roughly five minutes, he finally spotted a camera lens extended from one of the rooms. The darkness made it nearly invisible, but Ye Qing's keen observation skills caught it.
Undoubtedly, someone in that room was using binoculars to monitor his room. This was a tactic Ye Qing was intimately familiar with, having used it on numerous occasions during past assignments. Recognizing it immediately, Ye Qing pinpointed their position almost effortlessly.
Memorizing the location of the camera, Ye Qing quietly slipped out from the flower bed and entered the building across from the hotel. Climbing to the targeted room, he stopped outside the door. Ensuring no one was around, he pulled out a card, slid it into the door seam, and with a soft click, the lock disengaged, and the door swung open.
Inside, Ye Qing immediately caught the faint sound of footsteps. Though his entry was subtle, the mercenary inside still noticed the faint noise.
Instead of barging in, Ye Qing removed his jacket, then suddenly flung the door open, tossing the jacket inside. At the same time, he rolled swiftly into the room.
A series of muffled gunshots followed, suppressed by a silencer. Ye Qing's jacket, now riddled with bullet holes, fell to the floor. The mercenary's reflexes were impressive, his marksmanship sharp. But compared to Ye Qing, he was still a step behind.
Distracting the mercenary with his jacket, Ye Qing dove straight into the room. Using the sound of the shots as a guide, Ye Qing lunged at the attacker before he even realized he'd only hit the jacket. The mercenary swung his gun around but missed every shot as Ye Qing seized his wrist and twisted it with a sharp motion, dislocating it. The firearm fell uselessly to the ground.
The mercenary groaned in pain but showed his grit by pulling a dagger from his boot with his free hand, thrusting it toward Ye Qing's chest.
But Ye Qing was no amateur. Skilled in martial arts and vastly more experienced in hand-to-hand combat, he intercepted the attack effortlessly. Before the dagger could make it halfway, Ye Qing drove his knee into the man's chest, fracturing several ribs and rendering his arm limp.
Disarming the mercenary, Ye Qing restrained him with a rope before calmly exiting the room, closing the door behind him as if nothing had happened.
Descending the stairs, Ye Qing slipped back into the hotel's backyard through the rear entrance. With the surveillance handled, he moved confidently, ensuring no one was around before approaching the rear window of his room. With precision, he quietly opened the bathroom window and climbed back inside.
Ye Qing had deliberately chosen a suite with ample space. Although Huang Boxiong and his men were inside, they were too oblivious to hear Ye Qing's entry into the bathroom.
"Boss, when we catch that guy named Ye, what do you plan to do with him?" one of the lackeys asked excitedly in the main room.
"Hmph!" Huang Boxiong snorted coldly. "What else? Cripple him! Slice his tendons and teach him a lesson he won't forget. Let him know who's the real boss around here. Damn bastard dares to mess with me? Coming onto my turf, I'll make him pay both principal and interest!"
"Yeah, kill that son of a bitch!" one underling chimed in. "He might act all tough in Shenchuan City, but here in Dongzhou, he'd better lower his head and behave!"
"Bullshit!" Another lackey shouted excitedly. "Doesn't matter if it's Shenchuan City or Dongzhou, that punk has to bow down and stay in his place wherever he goes!"
