Chapter 340 - 340 Xu Changzhi
Xu Changzhi looked at Ye Qing, having witnessed his swift action just moments ago, and naturally understood that among the three of them, Ye Qing was the strongest.
The Carjack Gang had a substantial number of people, it was only because they encountered an outlier like Ye Qing that they suffered a setback. If it had been anyone else, who could have overcome so many armed carjackers?
Ye Qing finally understood why that traffic policeman had appeared so incorruptibly impartial, why even money couldn't bribe him. In reality, he had planned to steal both the car and the money all along. The offer Da Fei made was trivial to him. So much for impartiality; it was all an act, a ploy to lure victims to this spot.
"These people actually endanger others' lives, truly detestable!" Ye Qing frowned and said in a deep voice, "How many lives have they taken with their own hands?"
"I heard that, big and small, nearly twelve people have died, all from out of town." Xu Changzhi paused for a moment and then said, "But this time, how come they're even stopping locals? It seems they've truly lost their minds, it serves them right to have run into Brother Ye."
"Twelve people dead, and the police still haven't caught them?" Ye Qing spoke sternly, "What exactly are Dengyang City's police doing? Allowing these people to run wild outside, just how many more have to die?"
"Brother Ye, the Dengyang City police are indeed doing their best to catch these criminals. However, Dengyang City's terrain is too complex, with many branching paths; catching these people is really not easy," Xu Changzhi said with a smile, "But, they've run into Brother Ye this time, it's like they're asking for trouble. Brother Ye, I'll report this to the police right away, so..."
Xu Changzhi hadn't finished his words when a loud voice suddenly came from a distance, "Hey, what's happening on your end? Why haven't you come over yet? The boss is about to leave. Killing a few people is such a hassle, it's not like slaughtering pigs, are you afraid of blood splatter or what? Even if blood gets on you, can't you just take a shower when you get back?"
Ye Qing and the others exchanged looks, and the heavily made-up girl let out a frightened "Mommy," then hurriedly ran to hide behind Ye Qing. She didn't run to Xu Changzhi because she knew that it was Ye Qing who could truly protect her.
Xu Changzhi's expression changed and he said in a low voice, "They have accomplices, dot dot dot shall we... shall we leave first?"
"No need!" Ye Qing waved his hand and gave Mad Dog a look. Mad Dog got the message and immediately ran into the small woods beside them, making his way around from behind.
"Da Fei, you stay here and protect them," instructed Ye Qing, then he took advantage of the cover of darkness to quietly head towards the direction from whence the voice had come.
"Damn, are you guys dead or what? I'm asking you, how's it going?" The man kept muttering, completely unaware that the people over here had been beaten to the point of being unable to speak.
Ye Qing approached and spotted a man cursing as he walked towards them. Ye Qing crouched behind a large tree, and when the man was passing by, he suddenly pounced, covering the man's mouth and pinning him to the ground. A knee to the chest made it hard for him to breathe.
Ye Qing then struck the back of the man's head, rendering him unconscious. Ye Qing rose to his feet, moving as silently as a nocturnal cat, and continued towards the clearing they had come from.
Seeing Ye Qing walk away, Xu Changzhi and company felt some apprehension. Xu Changzhi whispered, "There are.... will the two of them be alright going over there? There are even more people on that side than here!
"Don't worry, these guys are unlucky to have run into my big brother Ye," Da Fei said confidently. "What are a few of them? Even if there were twice as many, they couldn't do anything to big brother Ye!"
"Ah?" Xu Changzhi couldn't help but express his surprise, questioning, "What exactly does Brother Ye do?"
"Entertainment and culture," Da Fei replied, noting Xu Changzhi's incredulous expression, "But before that, he was an ex-Special Forces operative!"
"I see!" Xu Changzhi had a sudden realization, excitedly saying, "So Brother Ye is ex-Special Forces, no wonder he's so formidable. It seems these people really have brought trouble upon themselves!"
When Ye Qing arrived at the clearing, Mad Dog had also made his way around from the woods. Ye Qing gestured to Mad Dog, who understood and picked up a stone from the ground, throwing it onto one of the cars from a distance.
The harsh sound prompted an angry voice, "What the hell?" Little Mustache poked his head out from the car, angrily scanning around.
Mad Dog immediately got up, pretending to run away noisily, thereby drawing Little Mustache's attention.
"Damn it, someone's here!" Little Mustache exclaimed with a shout, "Quick, block him off for me!"
The people from the two cars got out and headed straight for Mad Dog in the woods.
Ye Qing was worried that the gang might drive off, which would make it impossible to capture them all at once. Now that everybody had gotten out of the cars, he felt much more at ease and quickly darted out of the tree line. Taking advantage of everyone's focus on Mad Dog, he dashed to the vehicles, pulling Little Mustache down from the car door and punched him in the chest.
With a stifled grunt, Little Mustache fell to the ground, frantically gesturing to his cronies to come back and deal with Ye Qing.
Ye Qing charged at them, rushing into the crowd, throwing punches and kicks. It didn't take long before he had knocked all of them to the ground. Ye Qing was even more ruthless this time because he knew they were all murderers and showed them no mercy.
After taking down the culprits, Ye Qing gave Mad Dog a wave. Mad Dog understood the signal and immediately ran back to fetch Xu Changzhi and the others.
Ye Qing approached the men and twisted a leg on each of them, ensuring they couldn't escape.
Seeing such a scene when Xu Changzhi and his companions arrived, they couldn't help but be even more shocked. They had just seen Ye Qing approaching and were expecting a fierce battle. But in such a short time, all these men had been taken down. How could this be possible? Was the combat ability of a retired Special Forces soldier really this terrifying?
"Mr. Xu, I've broken a leg of each of them, so they definitely can't escape now. You should call the police. I have an emergency and can't delay any longer," Ye Qing saluted Xu Changzhi with his hands and said, "Goodbye!"
"Ye, are you really in such a hurry?" Xu Changzhi asked urgently, "If it's not too pressing, why don't you come to the city first, and I'll treat you to a meal."
"No need, we'll talk about it another time!" Ye Qing got into the car, unable to stay and chat with Xu Changzhi any longer, and hurriedly drove away from the area. Right now, what worried him most was his father's situation; he had no time to exchange pleasantries with Xu Changzhi.
Watching Ye Qing's car drive off, Xu Changzhi shook his head helplessly and said, "What a remarkable man!"
The heavily made-up girl smacked her lips and said, "So handsome!"
Only the plainly dressed girl tugged at Xu Changzhi's sleeve and whispered, "Brother, let's go, it's so dark here!"
"It's alright, these people have been dealt with by Brother Ye, there's no danger now!" Xu Changzhi took out his mobile phone from the car and said gravely, "I have to ask Huang Feiming how the hell he's running Dengyang City's police department. The Carjack Gang has been active for so long without being caught. I was almost killed by them this time; I want to see how he'll explain this to me!"
Xu Changzhi didn't call Huang Feiming. Instead, he made a call to another place. After briefly describing the situation, the person on the other side immediately dialed Huang Feiming's mobile phone.
It was already the wee hours of the morning, and Huang Feiming was about to indulge in a night of passion with his new lover after taking Viagra. When his mobile phone rang, Huang Feiming immediately cursed, "Fuck, which bastard is calling at this ungodly hour, looking for death, aren't they?"
The lover underneath him, like a little goblin, writhed and cooed, "Mmm... ignore it, I don't want you to answer the phone..."
Huang Feiming laughed and said, "If I don't answer, I just want to see which blind bastard is calling. Tomorrow, I'm going to teach them a lesson they won't forget!"
As he spoke, Huang Feiming picked up the mobile phone from the table. Glancing angrily at the number, he first was taken aback, then his face suddenly changed, and he grabbed the phone and climbed out of bed.
"Husband, where are you going?" the little goblin asked discontentedly.
"Answering the phone!" Huang Feiming replied hastily.
The little goblin pouted, "You said you wouldn't answer, I don't care, I won't let you pick up the phone!"
"Get lost!" Huang Feiming snapped irritably, "Do you even know who's calling?"
The little goblin's expression froze, looking aggrieved as if she wanted to cry but didn't dare to, with an awkward look on her face.
After a curse, Huang Feiming immediately ran to the bathroom, coughed lightly to ensure his voice was in good condition, then respectfully answered the call, his face involuntarily smiling, "Secretary Zhou, hello."
"Huang Feiming, what the hell kind of job are you doing?" What greeted him was a barrage of angry exclamations that almost made Huang Feiming drop his phone.
It wasn't until the other side stopped cursing that Huang Feiming cautiously said, "Secretary Zhou, what... what happened?"
"What happened? You have the gall to ask!" Secretary Zhou raged. "How have you been handling the Dengyang City Carjack Gang issue? Why haven't you caught them yet?"
Huang Feiming's voice trembled, "Secretary Zhou, they... this Carjack Gang is really too cunning; we've been trying our hardest. But rest assured, I will solve the case as quickly as possible and won't disgrace you!"
"Not disgrace me? You won't disgrace me?" Secretary Zhou repeated angrily, "Now it's not a question of disgracing me or not, Huang Feiming. Do you even realize what's happened?"
"What's happened?" Huang Feiming was full of confusion; if it were just the matter of the Carjack Gang, Secretary Zhou wouldn't need to be this furious.
"You idiot!" Secretary Zhou fumed utterly enraged. "Let me tell you, Young Master Xu is currently in Dengyang City. And he encountered the Carjack Gang and almost lost his life!"
"Young Master Xu? Which Young Master Xu?" Huang Feiming wondered aloud.
