The Red Dragon Just Wants To Do As It Pleases

Chapter 38 - 37: Calamity

At the instant the volcano erupted, David, who had been drifting carelessly on the sea’s surface, acting fearlessly as bait to fish for Elves, suddenly perked up.

Although he suspected it was most likely the work of his own Dragon Mother, the sheer magnitude of the disturbance still compelled him to turn and glance over his shoulder.

And with that look, his eyes nearly bulged out of his head.

Ah, is all this really necessary just to deal with a few High Elf ships? Really, this is overkill, Mom!

Though his words were a humblebrag, seeing his newly acknowledged Dragon Mother stepping up for him like this filled him with a secret sense of satisfaction.

As millions of cubic meters of volcanic ash were hurled into the atmosphere, the sky darkened at a rate visible to the naked eye, as if a giant black hand had swiftly covered the sun. The sea breeze turned unusually oppressive, filled with a heavy solemnity.

The volcano before him was like an enraged monster, as if spewing not lava, but destruction itself from its maw.

Volcanic ash poured down like torrential rain, and scorching volcanic stones struck the sea surface like a meteor shower. It was as if thousands of orange hellfires were descending simultaneously, creating enormous splashes.

When lava met seawater, steam instantly billowed upwards. The surrounding waters began to boil, turning the sea scalding hot.

On the nearby High Elf warships, the High Elves watched in terror, their faces reflecting the hellish red glow of the volcano.

As the force of the volcanic eruption intensified, a huge waterspout suddenly exploded between two ships. The indescribable might of nature forced the tilting vessels apart.
